Indifference is only the best revenge against someone who thinks about you. Someone who doesn’t think about you will be utterly indifferent to your indifference.

True, but I, at some point in my life recognized that all those bad thoughts and feelings about someone who wronged me only created suffering on my end. The answer was to let go.

The indifference might not give me revenge in a direct sense, but it gives me peace.

My revenge is being happy and free from that person.

The problem is if you try to just ignore hatred and think happy thoughts instead that’s likely to fail because it’s still there. Better to realize that what you are angry about is bigger than one individual and the weaknesses that led to treating you badly, and instead take it out on that bigger thing in everything you do.

Holding on to anger is no way to go through life. You gotta find a way to let that shit go or it will eat you alive over time.

I’d say it’s the opposite even, trying to “let it go” as in ignore and not process anger is itself a recipe for it eating you alive over time. Anger needs a voice.

Expressing that anger is one way to deal with it, sure. Ideally, you aim for some form of expression that does as little damage as possible.

Fundamentally, long-term anger is just your brain telling your brain to stay angry. It’s thought patterns in your psyche. You can just let it go. Change your thought patterns. That’s a different way to deal to with anger. I’m not saying it’s always easy, but It’s an option available to all of us.
