Why exactly do you even care?

I own women clothes (as a male), my wife owns many men clothes. We dress however we like, we don’t care for labels or what gender is put on there. If I’d feel like wearing a pink hello-kitty-dress, I’d do so. And we’re genX and gender-boring. I would even care less if I’d identify as something else than my pants contents tell me.

Why do you give a crap about how some store genders something? Pick what you prefer from wherever? Seriously asking, not mocking or anything.

Why I slightly care? Because life is more beautiful than devoting it to some deity that gives a rat’s ass about you. And I sometimes am delusional enough to think that cultists can escape. They rarely do because it’s so hard, but the chance is never zero.

And lol, no. I grew up I an environment grounded in reality. There never was any religion. And suicide? Hell no, my life is fantastic. I don’t work, I travel, I live every hobby that fills me with joy, I have a wonderful wife and no kids nor pets. I wouldn’t change a thing and most definitely not suicide lol.

I just despise religion/cults as it’s just a great thing to control the sheep and/or make money. and the concept itself is totally outdated. “God is dead” like Nietzsche said.

Just for the sake of the thought you’d actually be willing to talk about this (which i highly doubt, as your nick already hints at): YOU assume life has no meaning because it’s an accident. Why does it even HAVE to have a meaning? Why can’t it just be? So your brain can make “sense” of it all? Also no one’s life holds any intrinsic value at all. And only because you joined some cult and follow some abitrary rules (that the next cult of the same flavour does totally different, so who’s “right” to begin with?) doesn’t give your life value. To this planet you’re as valuable as a leaf or said excrement. Which is, in fact, way more useful for nature than YOU are or ever will be.

PS: I find it really funny, that you use the word “reality” while you also believe in tons of unproovable fairy-tales from times long gone. Even with a mythical creator of all and everything that actually cares about wether you (and millions of others) pray or abuse your wife correctly. Exactly what every omnipotent being would totally love to.

I’d say it’s about a lovely utopia where everyone is equal, money and poverty are gone and progression of humanity itself became the main driving force of everyone.

Besides that it’s about many encounteers with new species, discoveries, ethical and moral questions that are (tried to be) solved for the good of everyone. It’s conversation, not conflict. It’s discovery, not extinction. It’s fairness, not exploitation. Et cetera.

And I’d counter your argumrnt. There always is some looming threat. Voyager has a gazillion of enemies, the ever hanging threat of never coming back home and being stranded for good. TNG had…well…the Borgs? Sure, there are many soap-opera-moments, like the sherlock Holmes holodeck filler-episodes, but they’re not defining elements I’d say.

Star wars is like a western in space. Pew pew instead of bang bang. No wonder it’s so much more loved than trek.

Besides my point being not totally serious, you’re right. Technically. Yet big changes were always at the doorstep and could happen. I just highly doubt the current capitalism-era could ever end. There might be tiny revolts here and there, but there would be so many concurrently happening events needed it seems impossible. Also there’s no viable alternative. At least none everyone sees. Anyhow, I’d say it’s a bit too complex for a discussion in text-form.

If you’d consider this broadly points at everything “ok”, I’d frigging fear your “moderately bad” 😁
