I get your point. I don’t like spending money on games either. But that’s not the same for most gamers. Look at rivals skin sales or Valorant skins. You can drain thousands of dollars on these games without any lootboxes. People want that. You can’t change it.

Have you ever played Overwatch? Players have been begging for lootboxes since they were removed. Not because they are gambling addicts but because all i mean every single lootbox was free. It remains free now except 2 that you can get in premium battle pass. It’s very tame compared to any other f2p game.

These changes are all super good. It’s just people unable to move on from their ex and it’s ok. Overwatch was one of the first multiplayer for a lot of gamers. It’s understandable they felt hurt by Blizzards treatment cause they did treat them that bad. The downvotes here essentially mean, I don’t want to see that shit over here. Idk if you followed it the full story but they were never hostile towards linux. They did allow Linux until it became a breeding ground for hackers. I’m pretty sure there are threads on their forum where the devs explain more but yeah. Now we have sover though. Better than vinegar.

Also they kept Wine support for Studio because it’s not online multiplayer. It doesn’t get hacked.

It was not just the devs that think that but there were aholes openly discussing cheats on the vinegar server, it’s no secret. It’s just unfortunate devs don’t support linux anti cheat.
