A nice roasted duck gets my mouth leaking like an old galvanized pipe that you didn’t realize was rotting from the inside out
Hotdog!
Mostly racoon from what I’m led to believe.
Salmon. It might actually be my favourite overall. Delicious.
MANFLESH
Nothing like a mouth full of manflesh
Good ol long pig
no i know youre referencing lotr but i swear i heard that phrase from some game i play awhile ago. Cant quite remember what it is. This is gonna bug me the rest of my day.
I swear i heard this from playing games. But cant remember which games. Fuck
Lord of the rings

Deer meat.
~Sorry for delete prev. comment. Did a typo and reacted stupidly.~
Someone wrote beans so you’re ok
Bison/buffalo burgers are delicious.
+1. It’s like beef but leaner and more flavorful.
Elk is fantastic. Elk chops with a sweet demiglas is chefs kiss
Quail is pretty good.
As a 10 year vegan, the meats I miss the most are gator tail and venison
What’s gator like? Chicken?
I had gator recently that was a plain fillet and not a fried nugget or something like that. I thought it was like a cross between chicken and a meaty fish. It tasted like chicken, but there was a slight sponginess and the way it pulled apart reminded me of fish
Sponginess is a great word for it! I wanted to describe it as kind of fluffy, but that felt not quite right
It’s been so long that my description might not be reliable, but I remember it as a slightly fishy, gamey chicken, but much softer and juicier than other game meats
Gardein’s “ultimate” plant based chick’n nuggets already taste kind of fishy IMO, and I’ve found that soaking them in dill pickle juice before cooking makes them taste a lot like I remember gator tail being like
The gator I had was fried and it was like darker-than-dark-meat chicken.
Duck. 🦆
I like duck if it’s done properly, but eat kangaroo more often.
Kangaroo has to be done right. A good kangaroo roast can be better than lamb or pork.
Ostrich. Easily the best game meat. It’s incredible.
Tofu is tried and true and super versatile.
Learning to cook seitan feels like a veritable lifehack the first time you experience turning 2 cups of gluten powder into a massive bounty of sandwich slices.
Things like Beyond (ideally their avocado-oil versions) are a bit too pricy, but a nice change of pace when they go on sale. They’re good for those random burger cravings. Same story with those breaded Gardein patties.
Soy curls are a miracle.
I added tofu to my rotating protein list and it’s been a great addition. I regret not eating it sooner.
Horse! It’s actually probably just my favourite meat in general even including the others
I imagine horse is a lot like beef as Tesco got away with using horse meat in ready meals for who knows how long.
Hah that one was funny :3
It definitely tastes distinctly different… or at least from what I had, I assume tesco meals don’t taste much of anything in general tho
Generic salty brown mush haha. But seriously I’ve never had it so am intrigued.
It’s a very lean smooth meat… it’s like… not as gamey as something as beef, but still with that distinct red meat taste. It’s rather interesting :3
Then I shall keep my eyes open for it and surprise the family one day.
Im not even sure what places sell it tbh :3… I know some countries eat it regularly, but every time I had it was cause I live in the middle of nowhere and a farmer gave me some
Turkey
Probably venison and/or wild boar (if you don’t count the latter as pork). My partner’s parents are hunters and they’ve given us some excellent boar steaks and self made game sausages before.
Venison is great but the markup is insane. In Scotland deer are hunted to stop them from destroying entire forests and the meat is sold to restaurants at a loss just so that it’s used for something. Then those restaurants inflate the price massively because it’s “exotic”
It’s not as bad here in Germany but knowing hunters does pay off.
