Yeah I’ve noticed that almost every post and comment seems to get at least some engagement here, whereas on reddit it’s very common to make a post/comment that no one ends up seeing.

Your world view seems to be highly influenced by propaganda. A country ruled by two identical genocidal capitalist parties isn’t a “democracy”; it’s a capitalist dictatorship.

Any party genuinely wanting to advance working class causes will not be allowed to come to power through it (they won’t be funded by the capitalist backers that fund/control the two ruling parties to begin with), and anyone in power that happens to hurt the country’s imperial prowess will be disposed of by the ruling parties, the way JFK was assassinated for wanting to abolish the CIA and reducing US troops in the Middle East.

Best way to decentralize users more would probably be to make your own instance. .world is certainly centralizing Lemmy’s userbase too much right now.

For the left, electoralism is only good for some advertising. A capitalist system won’t let socialists come to power even if they somehow manage to win like we’re seeing in France with Macron right now. Liberals will side with fascists long before they ever think about looking left, as they always have historically.

My first instinct was to say GIMP or Firefox, but I could still use Krita or Chromium in those cases.

I’d say Anki then. I don’t know of any other FOSS flashcard app this good, and I have so much saved on it that losing it would be devastating.

Game’s great. Only complaints are the too many invisible walls (made worse by the lack of a map, though there’s a mod for that now apparently), and the fact that there’s no boss gauntlet. The latter ig they can add in an update or DLC like Sekiro did; would really help the replayability.

I was also pleasantly surprised by the difficulty; was afraid it wouldn’t reach Fromsoft levels, but alot of the bosses in the later chapters proved otherwise. Any Soulsborne fan will very much enjoy this.

With the USSR overthrown, virtually all mainstream media now is capitalist propaganda. And the capitalist class obviously would not want the working class to prefer a system where workers are in power.

Which just means “tolerating” the capitalist exploitation of workers.

It’s why liberals always passively “tolerate” the decay of capitalism into fascism as is what happened in Germany and Italy, and seems to be happening in the US. They oppose socialist revolution against the capitalist state, because fascism does not harm Capital.
