I can vouch for Humankind too. It offers quite some depth and variability despite some stupid balancing here and there. Beware though it can often feel unfair and broken due to a hidden steep learning curve, as faith and influence are your core diplomatic strength, and the emphasis on territories when the game shoves cities in the main UI focus. Underneath its game design is largely quite good.

I especially fail to see the value to drive up obsolescence. Look how the Final Fantasy XIV art team, or the Tyranny RPG expressed so much through comparatively ancient engines of the PS3 era. And for shooters we have so much visual polished fidelity, with physics, high resolution textures and dynamic lighting to create anything you want. From “Prey” (2016) to Prey (2005) I think both look amazing.

About the story I doubt they could course correct in time after the botched Dawntrail writing and therefore I am not excited about in the least. The dungeons were great, judging by casual mode mechanics I hope they cook with the Alliance Raid as well and they have my faith, and the real star of the show will be the Chaotic Alliance raid. Artwork 100% faith, battle design 90% faith and story 0% faith for me.

Don’t search for computer speakers, just look for normal speakers on which I can’t help out too much on. Unless you want to invest into an expensive sound card, you probably should go for an AV-Receiver which transmits the audio through HDMI as this will give you the maximum quality depending on the supported formats. I have a sound card -> old school amplifier -> speaker setup. Basically it is your choice where the digital to analogue transformation happens, whether through a receiver or sound card. A sound card does have the massive advantage of providing virtual headphone surround sound (yes on stereo headphones, and no, this is really working) which receivers typically don’t have, because reasons and it will provide you with a massive immersion boost. And no onboard sound is not comparable, even the best one is a clear step down.
