Confirm. Never seen something chatter on the network so much as well (remote control setting on maybe?). I don’t know the model but i threw it on a physically separate wlan with no Internet and a pihole and holy jebus it’s almost as bad as the Google nest hubs.

I’ll officially be seeding more of this type of stuff (annas, cdc, etc) than all of my “Linux isos”. Feels good.

Home Assistant + a dongle of your choice. I won’t even get into zigbee vs zwave. Both are great just different vendor support.

After trying Watchstate and Ryot it depends on what you want. Do you just want an easy easy to backup/sync playstate between platforms? Watchstate. Do you need more? Not Watchstate.

My first couple of battery operated zwave devices were hard fails. Instantly offline and rarely came back. That was years ago now. I’ve got temp/humidity sensors and water/leak detectors going for a year now at 95% battery still. The new 800 series Zooz devices pretty much guarantee you won’t have range issues. I’ve never looked back after choosing zwave.

My network is more than capable of supporting Wi-Fi devices but i simply choose not to. It’s an attack vector i didn’t need and overkill for most devices.

I’m sorry, I did not phrase that right. What you are describing is normalization and it’s very very difficult to fight it. I did not mean to say specifically that you are normalizing it.

I apologize, that’s the 18 pack. I was reminded we got charged the 18 pack price but only had a 12. That was a four hour later going over the receipt find. This was a Price Chopper outside of Albany.

I think the home assistant crowd prefers locally hosted but i guess i could be wrong.
