People are struggling to pay rent and buy groceries. Entertainment will always be the first thing to cut.
I use bullshit answers for these, and save them in the notes section of my password manager.
Google voice is hit or miss. It’s worked for a lot of smaller sites for me, but the bigger / more corporate it is, the less likely it seems to work.
I refuse to use Meta, and I block their various URLs in my home. Friends and family complain and give me grief about it. It’s astonishing how much of a creep Zuck is, and yet he’s got his hooks in deep, and some people are still addicted to his garbage.
A lot of it is untracked, though. I know we live in the era of big data, but Blizzard et al has no clue how many people are playing TIE Fighter Total Conversion and countless other old games. 5% is way too low of a made up estimate.
Hell, classic arcade emulators are ubiquitous.
My point here is not that game publishers aren’t making money. My point is, gamers don’t have to buy into it to have fun.
I know it’s been a while, but I’m still getting used to the curly hair. Looks much better than the stupid Caesar thing he was going with before. But he still looks like a synth.
Shit like this is why people go back and play much older titles and have a great time with them.
c/patientgamers rise up! Or maybe not. We’ll just wait until it goes on sale and maybe give it a try down the road.
I do love Technology Connections. When I was a kid, my uncle had a pinball machine in his game room and we would play that thing for hours on end. It was really fun seeing Alec crack one open and give us an extended tour.
The Brother PocketJet series of printers might have a model you like. I have never used one of the PJ printers, but I’ve had good experiences with other Brother printers.
Awesome movie!
The Fisher King.
You’re a bold one. Lemmy hates videos and AI both.
I have family there, too. It can be fun to visit, but I would hate living there. It’s also annoying how people who do live there think it’s the center of the universe, and being from NYC is a personality.
Used CDs (or local library). Ripping software. Super easy. Or just buy from Amazon and download your files to local.
Many of my friends use it. I’m old school and just keep a collection of mp3s on multiple devices for backup.
Just like the Metaverse…this won’t have legs.
Obsidian is awesome. It won’t meet everyone’s needs, but I love the lightweight simplicity of it. But it’s also extremely extensible with add-ons if you want to go down that rabbit hole.
Yup. Elizabeth Holmes and Sunny Balwani, same thing. If they’d only endangered patients, they’d have gotten away with it.
Looking at this photo hypnotized me and now I hate the sun.
