I do play the game and I can say from experience it isn’t.
Honestly I think it is time they put NMS to bed and focus on their upcoming title, LNF.
They have added so much over the years, and I understand as their first project they are probably incredibly attached to it, but lately it has been feeling like diminishing returns on updates.
What good are a bunch of new planets gonna do when they still all basically look and interact the same as every other planet?
Snowflakes vary in size from tiny specs to big, crystals a few millimeters in diameter like in the pic.
Fucking "libertarian"s giving anarchists a bad name.
It just absolutely sucks that psychedelics and marijuana are being wrapped up in this bullshit.
To have “more or less” of something implies the effectiveness of the product is directly caused by the metric being measured.
The amount of time a genotype took to evolve has no bearing on the effectiveness.
There is no such thing as “more/less evolved”. There is no gradient. Something either is evolved to adapt to its environment or it isn’t.
Not less evolved. Just evolved differently for alternative environmental circumstances.
There is no hierarchy of evolutionary traits. Just an amalgamation of traits that are or are not useful in the current environment. What genetic makeup is effective in one place and time is useless in another, and what was once useless may now be beneficial.
We have no clue how threatening they could potentially be.
It’s pretty obvious that any creative endeavor that requires artistic influence will always be handicapped by our current economy.
As soon as all of these dev companies became large corporations, their mission changed from creating a fun, entertaining experience into producing the cheapest possible product they can get away with that will still sell and generate revenue.
Art requires risk and imperfections, but risk and imperfections are diametrically oppositional to the economic endeavor of generating the absolute most potential profit possible.
There was a recent report, it only helps during the first few months of sales according to a very flimsy study that was done.
It suggests that it only saves a mean of 15% total revenue during the first 12 weeks.
Though remember, these figures are all just theoretical projections of sales. Basically just “well we believe we should have made this much revenue. So if we don’t make it, it means we lost potential revenue, not that we simply didn’t make as much as we thought we would.”
I’m disappointed in No Mans Sky for not using it for the Utility Menu they have. Really was a missed opportunity.
I think I could count on one hand the number of games I’ve played that actually used the touch features of the touch pad (swipe, pinch, etc…) rather than have it just be a big button.
I forget which game it was but they let you control the map with it. Was actually pretty good once you got used to it.
Yea his mistake was pumping the number too much. If he would have kept a steady stream of income and not get greedy, they never would have noticed him.
The Gibdo.
The sounds they made unfortunately live rent free in my nightmares.
