I don’t know, I don’t care. No gods, no heroes, no idols.
I don’t know, I don’t care. No gods, no heroes, no idols.
A 29 year old is not a child. It’s a mature adult with a fully formed frontal cortex.
And? Nobody said otherwise.
Harping on the age difference is infantilising her.
Wrong. Nobody says ”It’s wrong because she’s a child.“ The thing is even with adults, a significant age gap is a red flag. There’s a difference in upbringing, culture, maturity, experience, etc. But a red flag is not a no go, it’s a warning sign that signals possible conflicts in the future.
Because there’s a huge gap between her age and your age. A gap that’s more than half her life and almost a third of yours.
Then I’m not quite sure how your comment relates to my fake surprise meme response.
Wait, just to get it straight (no pun intended): you think I am pissed about people who are pissed about rainbow capitalism?
We all do, I suppose.
I don’t want to really respond to this, so please imagine being hit with an annoyed german stare.
Also, even if, a single comment is still far away from ”y’all“.
and i’m actually a little insulted that that’s the first thing that comes to y’alls minds when replying here.
Is it, though? There’s one comment like that and it’s blatantly obviously not serious.
A colourful, flamboyant shirt, some nice pants and a sporty blazer alongside some pride coloured jewellery maybe?
Accidentally doing the right thing for all the wrong reasons lol
And I have never heard that phrase before. Maybe it’s a regional with these?
While I like Steve Shives generally, I don’t like the title. Now, I haven’t watched this video yet so I don’t know if he differentiates, but from I read in the comments it’s (mostly) about Dawkins and Pinker (whom I don’t know). Most activists who support trans communities and the LGBTQIA±movement are atheists though.
Quite the same topic (Dawkins’ transphobia) is this video by Genetically Modified Skeptic: Why I Turned Down Working With Richard Dawkins
(I don’t want to take anything away from Steve Shives though. I’m not saying ”Watch this video instead“, I just want to add.)
I think they meant ”No gods, no heroes, no idols“ though.
Na. The Nazis most probably will be strongest opposition party, but the government will be populist.
So I looked it up and I have to update my statement before.
First, one can also just have their gender entry outright deleted.
Secondly, naming conventions are the same as for baby names:
Generally, first names have to correspond to the new gender entry:
- Who chooses the male gender can use a name or names that are purely male ore both male and female.
- Who chooses the female gender can use a name or names that are purely female or both female and male.
- And who chooses the gender „diverse“or to delete their gender entry has free choice among male and female names
- For all genders, the chosen names have to be actual first names.
(Source translation by me because I was too stupid to realize there’s an English version)
Unfortunately, despite the actual progress this law certainly demonstrates, it also shows there’s still both a binary way to think about gender and certain expectations linked to gender well seated in the minds of lawmakers. Nonetheless, it’s a lot better than what we had before.
I’m not sure, tbh. I think that only applies to baby names, but I’ll be sure and check later when I’m home
I invite y’all to Germany. We have legally recognised three genders plus changing your name and gender entry has just become easier (although politicians of the most likely coming up government said they want to reverse the latter, though that party is not exactly known for keeping their word).
If you want to avoid every movie or show where a bigoted or otherwise very critical person or company is heavily involved in the production, the range of movies or shows would shrink drastically. So instead of not watching I pirate. The bigots don’t make a profit off of me and we’re all good.
In the english language, they/them are pronouns used when you don’t know a person’s gender. So in that sense you’re using them perfectly right.
However, relatively recently people started to adopt they/them as their own pronouns and some people might not identify with these pronouns and therefore might be displeased if they/them are used for them. But I struggle in a similar way as you (AuDHD here) and have not met a single person who was still angry after I explained my struggles (showing effort might be key for some though).
However, most people who rant about they/them (or pronouns in general, weirdly enough) are part of the anti-woke crowd (and grifters from those bubbles).
