Yet here we are
I don’t think people really care about karma? Can easily farm that by bots or just by posting cats in place that likes cats.
People on patreon are often using private spaces like Discord. This could work well for Reddit if done right
Could work well if it is implemented like a patreon community.
I think that it being a Trump decision, people needs to get mad ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Wasting their time
No problem 😃 I did find this article from NYTimes, that explains douyin well. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/04/25/business/china-tiktok-douyin.html
Probably can’t show you something that’s censored and removed 😆
You can watch laowhy86 watching Douyin propaganda content https://youtu.be/3aYCG4vEe5s
What are you asking for exactly? You can’t buy a whooper in McDonald’s
They are different like McDonald’s and Burger King. While similar, Douyin is only available for people in China and it’s heavenly censored and have a lot propaganda from Chinese government.
But TikTok is still banned by China… Chinese people cannot sign up for TikTok and communicate with the outside world.
Worse part is that Chinese people overseas will no longer be able to connect with friends and family.
My LG is totally offline. I use a Nvidia shield, where I have more control what’s on it. My router has handles the rest by running VPN + blocking dns.
I saw the wan show and they didn’t know they were affecting viewers, only affecting themselves. They address the problem and moved on. If viewers were affected, they would probably have made it a bigger deal.
I still don’t understand why it’s Linus’ job, just because he does “tech”? There are even bigger creators like MKBHD or Mark Rober (has scam videos). They have information now, but will they probably not even address it.
People are going mad anyways, doesn’t really matter especially here on lemmy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
People are putting the blame on creators, instead of PayPal/honey, when creators are the victims too. We don’t know the full story from LLT from their side if “deliberately chose to sweep this under the rug instead of reporting on it”
If I’m questioning it, I’m going to get negative feedback because the narrative is they are to blame because they are “big”.
I dunno why you keep sending me a bunch of text and videos. I’m going to wait until the next wan show, so I can understand what really happened inside.
Look I’m not correcting grammar, I’m not native English speaker myself + I’m very dyslexic.
But when someone says the biggest tech media companies, you put them in same category as Disney, Apple and so on, which makes them very small.
I watched it, but I’ll reserve my judgment until the next wan show because I don’t know if it has been mentioned before on an earlier show or how the problem has been interpret by staff.
No, they are not one of largest tech media companies They have less than what 100 employees. Maybe you used the wrong term?
When did they learn about it? Where your proof?
Creators are providing extra content to users. Often comes in form of tiers, which is paywalled. But the platform sucks with engagement between these users. So they often rely on private discord server for that.
No one knows how it exactly will work yet on Reddit. I’m just saying their could be a market for it.
