I built a new gaming PC and installed Linux on it. After years of threatening to do it, I finally followed through and made the switch.

It’s one of my favorite Star Trek episodes for that very reason. It’s an excellent trolley problem that forced Archer to do something bad to completely innocent people to save even more people.
The app I use to browse Lemmy doesn’t show banners so I never noticed but once I pulled it up in browser I agree 100%. That’s a really bad banner.
I really wish the people who say shit like this would realize how pathetic it makes them sound. I have never once felt my masculinity was being threatened because the player character in video game was female.
Its odd that you haven’t come across any complaints since almost everytime this game comes up in online threads that I visit, it’s filled with people criticizing it.
It’s been so long I thought they had dropped the IP. The first game has some issues but it wasn’t as bad as people make it out to be. Hopefully they addressed the issues with the first game.
Not sure when things changed but all I know is that when I bought mine years ago the Kobo site redirected me to Walmart and that’s where I had to buy it. My e-reader even displays the Walmart logo on it when I power it off.
Kobo was sold exclusively through Walmart in the US (at least when I bought my Kobo). I think they recently ended the partnership.

I could be entirely wrong about this but isn’t it in-universe lore that Elves don’t see the curvature of the world and that’s how they can see so far?
This and the Nike ad have been the worst ads during the Olympics.
I bought a SteamDeck as a way to test and see what works and what doesn’t on Linux. So far all my games have run with no issues.
I’m likely going to be posting and searching through a lot of Linux forums as Win10 gets closer to EOL.
This is what I’m going to have to do as well since my computer isn’t compatible with Win11. The only thing I’m worried about is gaming.
What’s funny is the “blonde bombshell in a catsuit” turned out to be one of the best characters on the show.
Wow. I didn’t realize at first that this picture already did the fact swap. I was mentally swapping their heads before I realized.
That is definitely way too invasive. Plugging something on to a Roku TV shouldn’t enable them to show you ads through that other device.
I was actually thinking about getting a Roku once too. Really dodged a bullet.
I agree 100%. Another design flaw is engineering and security having the same color.
How is it getting better battery life? Are OLEDs more energy efficient or does it have a bigger battery?
Everyone saying to go to Lemmy after the Reddit thing. I always browsed Reddit through their webpage so the third party app thing didn’t really bother me but I thought the whole Fediverse concept sounded interesting and decided to see what it’s like.
Win 11 is the reason I finally decided to switch. My work gave us all Win 11 machines and I hate it.
Fortunately I don’t do too much on my computer besides gaming so Steam can do all the heavy lifting for me
