I’ve been having a ton of fun, I like the cultural exchange a lot.
Personally I don’t care if China has data on me, it’s not like it’s useful for them and I’d rather them than meta or the US government or whoever.
There’s also way more queer/trans content than I was expecting.
Lame, I would totally have bought one.
I’m inclined to agree, they don’t want people starting to consider social murder as a crime worth seeking justice for, because the entire government is complicit in a vast network of social murder. An enormous yearly sacrifice all in the name of preserving ‘markets’ for housing, food, transportation, and healthcare.
I had a friend in college who I was briefly interested in, she was nice but I found her to be way too conservative for me to really feel comfortable with so in hindsight I’m glad she ended up dating ( and dumping) one of my other friends instead.
Lemmy is my only social media interaction these days, the content has improved, and the communities feel more distinct than they did a year ago. That could just be me getting up to speed though.
It was a nice surprise finding out that the left wing instances on here are actually pretty chill, way more so than on Reddit these days.
I don’t own one, but the previous (non wheeled ones) have been around for a while, they’re on Amazon with mixed reviews, people on Reddit seem to have been using them too.
This list price for this bigger more performant one seems pretty high though at $100k

Make R&D more affordable? Lower your countries healthcare costs and rent.
I lost all my sanity points decades ago. I also purged my social circle back during the second intifada, and by opposing the Iraq/Afghanistan wars- categorically improved my mental health as a result- I didn’t even have to cut anyone out of my life after Oct 7!
they have managed to set a trend for filling the night sky with shitty little low orbit satellites chewing up the ozone layer
Just based off how comfortable Americans are, no.
Yeah this had been my observation too
db0 is many things, but a tankie is not one of them
I’m more of an anarchist and I’ve not had issues with hexbear or .ml, though I don’t block lemmygrad I’m not subbed to most of their communities mostly because sectarianism bothers me.
I feel like I always have to check if I’m posting on something that’s on .world because even relatively mild off-color humor can get removed as “incivility” if it rubs a mod the wrong way.
The problem is that, with a lot of causes like feminism, it’s kind of mushy. It isn’t straightforward, it is loud, it is a winding path. … I just feel like just simply supporting the rights of women isn’t enough with it and that there’s something more.
This is why intersections are important, there are many interconnected struggles under capitalism which all run into common opposition along misogynistic/classist/racist lines and often with numerous overlaps.
Having an approach which does not include the systemic forces at play from more angles than just one, can lead you to blind spots which cause friction with other people.
I don’t think going out of my way to stand somewhere waving a sign for hours is what I think a good way to spend time with. I believe we should protest smarter by fighting with facts and being more focused than just allowing intrusive and irrelevant directives take hold of certain causes.
Demonstrations are only useful if they’re actually demonstrating something. If there’s nothing actually threatening why should anyone take your demonstration seriously? This doesn’t mean you need to be actually getting people in danger, but shit like stopping traffic and being disruptive makes a point where holding signs does not.
Gotta second this, it’s a little hard to find from a separate instance- you need to go to /c/[email protected] and pick it from the pinned threads
