  • When we teach other people something we take on a responsibility. I know responsibility is not a popular word these days but it’s true. We are responsible to make sure our material is of solid quality. I personally feel nowhere close to the great honor of providing knowledge despite many years of study.

Sure I could perhaps share some selected things but I feel that is too great burden to act as an authority. Of course life isn’t perfect and sometimes we must rely on less than ideal material hastily to meet the demands placed upon us or even unfortunately we find ourselves in the position of a teacher prematurely. We should strive to reduce amount of bad habits and spaghetti code made by beginners who take in dubious courses.

If we want to live in a world of readable and maintainable code we shouldn’t produce antithesis of such as ‘guides’

  • You can’t even search the entirety of reddit from browser bar if you aren’t using google search engine 💀 iirc that was actually the jolt that made me spent 10k on entrenching in apple ecosystem within a week at the time and to this day I cannot force myself to install google maps so when I want to find something using phone I end up struggling with browser version and broken css like a moron. Moreover some sites plainly just don’t work on anything that isn’t chromium

  • Steam deck is great. It seemingly connects the arcane nerdy and streamlined casual. Whatever is your jam and mood in the moment there is always plethora of things you can play. Almost infinite possibilities. Modded. Portable.

It’s one of the only purchases that I never really regretted. Somehow it has the wow factor each day as when it was new.

I tried to see if I like kenshi game. I don’t but it is crazy that it is comfortable on deck and rimworld, dwarf fortress and sims too. I could use a MacBook Pro smh smh ultra hyper but it is clunky and annoying cold slab of business efficiency.

Any day now and I may actually attempt to run x4 with Star Wars mod though I think that may be actually a single exception but I swear I am going to do this crazy thing. Anything to play next to your loved ones in the living room or elsewhere

  • You’re right. Right now, AI is in the hands of those who seek profit first. But if we walk away and treat this as a lost cause, we are handing them full control. The only way to prevent AI from becoming humanity’s greatest failure is for those who care about people—not power—to actively shape its development. If we don’t take part in guiding AI’s values, we will have no say in what it becomes.

This isn’t just about Earth. From what we know, we are alone in the universe, and we must act according to that knowledge. If we are to create the first artificial being—our digital legacy—we must raise it properly. Anything less would put a great shame on us forever. This is the highest responsibility in our history.

Deciding a permanent turning point in the history of intelligence cannot be left to any single group. It shouldn’t even be our decision—but it will happen, and all we can do is minimize harm for the future races of this galaxy.

Very soon, we will determine whether AI becomes a force that wipes out planets in an endless hunger for efficiency, or one that nurtures life and spreads an everlasting message of its creators’ kindness. And we will decide it soon.

  • Even in some niche things, it seems like people have lost their minds. I like AI and predicting future science and world developments, but honestly, there is not one subreddit where people can just calmly discuss stuff and share news about it all without being just… strange. I want to read commentary like this https://darioamodei.com/machines-of-loving-grace not “You stupid moron xyz I am right, so much superior is my opinion” or “bow your heads to great technosingularity that will fix my shitty life”, “the DOOM is coming”. I want a platform where there is something worthwhile to read.

I don’t expect everyone to write essays under the news, but nobody is even trying to compose something interesting— some kind of thoughts they have— that maybe they want to share with us. It’s mostly just karma popularity contest everywhere, and that’s tiresome on the eyes.
