The big discovery was salty water, not water.
Instead of an editorialised version — here is the original paper. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41550-024-02418-1
He lowkey looks like Mark Hamil
Yep. We feed cats, they kill pests which would otherwise give us disease and spoil our foods.
Makes you think that domestication is maybe the wrong paradigm, neither or us domesticated each other (or we both did) but truly it’s a mutually beneficial partnership, something that is actually common in nature.
The common, did we domesticate XYZ, or did XYZ domesticate us? Conundrum.
@[email protected] your username takes on a whole new meaning 🤣
Yup.
If the rate of dying is 100% for all humans.
Then the rate of dying for both humans who confuse correlation and causation and those who don’t is 100%. Hence there is no correlation between the confusion and dying. So no one is confusing correlation or causation, because neither are present.
It’s not the programming. It’s the power and financial success. Back in the day it was the oil buisnessmen.

Apple is just like the rest of big tech. They tried to play it as if they were the ethical one, but in the end all these private corpos are just the same.

“If I repeat it in enough papers it’ll become true” seems to be the mantra of scientists with hard to defend theories they claim are fact.
Insane the kind of money and labour spent to slightly convinience the upper class on their luxury vacations while people starve nearby.
Too bad tbe subtitles are automatic — as a deaf person I can’t make out much. I guess youtube AI aint trained on a Mancunian accent.
Accessibility:
Audio: Mediocre Automatic Subtitles, some meaning is lost in gibberish transcriptions
Cognitive: The pace and content may be too much for some people. The Video can be slowed down 0.5, 0.75 speeds, and much of the video could still be enjoyed without audio or subtitles, though some of the meaning may be lost.
[I’m a human volunteer trying to make to internet easier to navigate for people with disabilities. You can do the same too!]
Why would I spend money on proprietary software that tracks me and sells my data when it’s trivially easy for me to set up a FOSS alternative and actually own the video files myself.
I’m not rich, in fact I’m under the poverty line, even 5$ a month adds up for me. I see no reason to pay to be tracked.
Psychology is in many ways built on top of problematic methodology which have led to conflicting findings and a broad replication crisis.
Not to mention nearly all psychological research is conducted on WEIRD individuals (western, educated, industrialised, rich and democratic). Usually college students.
