Does emulation count?
I’d hate to get mixed up in all of that
Goddammit, now you’re giving him ideas.
Excellent, and precisely correct, observation!
Japan is incredibly prideful. They innovate fucking hard but refuse to copy each other’s homework, which leads to random “what the fuck is happening, why is this code 20 years out of date?” situations.
Gotta find a person that you like to match up against or you’ll find sweaty melee elitists. Try an online melee group if you don’t know anyone, or maybe you could try making a Lemmy community. Most play without items so items are completely disabled by default. Not a long process to change that, though. Just don’t use this information for evil, only against friends.
If you’re still hankering for something similar to super smash bros that you can play online on pc, slap city is decent. However, melee+slippi is still a masterpiece.

How much would it cost to store like 100 petabytes for (conservatively) 40 years?
Shit, we should also ban insta, fb, and google places while we’re at it.

There’s your problem. If they stated their rules, rather than forcing people to figure them out by trial and error, I’d have less of an issue with it. Like, lemmygrad is explicit in its intent and they state it outright in their rules. Lemmy.ml plays it too coy, and so comes off as incredibly manipulative.
They’d have to sell it for $500, if it’s comparable to the steam deck. I find that unlikely, personally.
I imagine the steam deck will be capable of emulating switch 2 titles nearly immediately, so there’s little reason to buy it. They really need to make their hardware comparable to their software (minus the notoriously awful Japan™ netcode)
Run for office and we’ll talk
Tug o war works because the rope is strong enough to withstand the pull. In online political tug o war, you’re the rope. Most people would naturally dislike the folks trying to turn them into rope.
Pretty sure the change occurred when he fired his social media manager and began personally handling his online presence. You can’t just become this terrible in your 50s.
It lives!

Of all the things on Reddit, I miss remindmebot the most. They tried to kill it numerous times but it survived like a roach in radiation. On lemmy, I find an interesting question and have to set a timer for myself. This is the most first-world of problems, but I’m still moderately upset every time
That’s like saying “everyone has a hobby” when you witness someone picking fights in public. Some hobbies and spaces are objectively worse than others.
