Just spitballing here. These grand ideas good/bad practical/or not are the beginning of mankind learning how to geo engineer planets or moons. I’ll be long dead before I get proven right or wrong so it’s easy to spitball
You hit the nail on the head. Emotions like fear, anxiety, stress are useful but destructive when ignored. It’s no crime to be prepared for the worst. Keep a bug-out bag ready. Arm yourself. Keep a list of the houses that fly the flag of your enemy. Have a plan.
I remember arcades being dimly lit. Otherwise the glare would mess with you when playing a game. Also the noise! Admittedly i skipped through this video but some of what I saw was definitely from the 70’s. Pinball was pretty much dead during the 80’s but made a resurgence late in the decade into early 90’s when they got a little more high tech.
Pretty sure the washer goes on the bottom
Just as much as I blame people that didn’t vote
OP if you are concerned about frozen water lines a couple of tricks are to leave cabinet doors open under sinks or leave faucets cracked open so water trickles out slowly. If you have access panels to crawl spaces that contain water lines leave those open too.
Not me but a coworker. Worked for a food importer and distributor back in the early 90’s and had never heard of needing any kind of certification to operate a forklift. Coworker who gave me a ride and got me stoned on the way to work every morning has a minor accident while on the tow motor. He is embarrassed and panics. Rather than stopping and taking a deep breath he tries to straighten out the error before the boss finds out and ends up puncturing the drywall above the office with the forks. It was 35 years ago, I still remember thinking how easily those forks could go through me
Thank you. I’ve always aspired to be a great analyst
If there’s a problem simply shove a monkey up there. Problem rectified
I don’t think this is earth shattering news. These companies identify when the audience is barely paying attention (to content and ads) and spits out the cheap stuff. I watch fly fishing and fly tying videos on YouTube and often fall asleep with it on. Then I wake up to the third hour of a professional bass fishing tournament. It happens a lot
I get thrilled when I get socks as long as they’re merino wool
Not me but I was at a New Years Eve white elephant party where everyone brought something they were gifted but didn’t want. Someone who had a relative that owned a video rental store (yeah 90’s) brought a promotional press packet for a Steve Martin/Goldie Hawn movie. B&W glossy photos of the stars, photocopied excerpts of the script, bunch of crap stuffed into a cardboard folder. So basically they gifted their high end junk mail. As for me I got a flamingo costume
That sucks
The Cattle Callin album buy Hank III. Every song is “music” played along with cattle auctioneers doing their thing
The ultralight stuff is a whole new set of gear I’ve considered buying but don’t know if I’ll use it enough to be worth it. My old school ass carries about 50lbs on a weekend trip though it drops fast as I eat up the food and drink the beer. I managed this for decades while my body weight was about 130lbs. Now I’m at 170 with plantar fasciitis, mild arthritis and possibly Covid lingering effects.
Fishing. 5 bucks here and there, it adds up. Even more so, fly fishing. I have some many materials
Opposite with me. I’ve got 25+ years of hiking in, never been a gearhead. That shit’s expensive. I buy one and make it work until it don’t work no more
Your money will go further if you donate to a local charity or food bank. That being said, I’ll give money occasionally. It’s nice to let them know others do genuinely care about them and their plight. Usually I’ll talk to them first. If they’re not too pushy I’ll slip them enough for a couple of meals. Subway gift cards are a good way to go. There’s lots of them and you know your money will go towards food. Most importantly treat them with respect and dignity
Yeah I felt I dated myself by talking about listening to the radio. I don’t know if this is of any help to you: I started taking guitar lessons at 50 and although I may never perform publicy, I enjoy just playing alone or with a few jam buddies. Around the same time I started going to punk shows again and after a little time made friends with some of the regulars (just like old times). Covid and inflation derailed that but I still make it out a few times a year. We all have our own personal obstacles though
