The nice thing about being anti-capitalist for essentially my entire life is that these boycotts are always easy for me. Hopefully I can show the way for others too.

I personally would like to see a grassroots movement that is more focused on direct resistance than electoralism but that’s just me.

If a lot of people do it, it could have a bigger impact than all 1000 of us or however many who are on a permanent boycott. You have to meet people where they are at and give them the next step in the process.

There is literally so much evidence that anyone can perceive with their own eyes if they want to. You can easily observe the curvature of the earth anywhere with objects visible across an open plain or water.

When we ask for housing for our homeless neighbors there is no money. But when they decide they want to deport millions of immigrants without justification suddenly we have plenty of funding for shelters.

Went to the protest yesterday. Lot of people were afraid so I wanted to show them it is still safe.

I’ve also been doing a lot of local organizing and I’ve made good friends with some really amazing people through that process. Even though our activism is more focused on the local scene than the national I think the bonds we are building with each other and our communities will be the most important thing if things continue to worsen.

I can’t believe it was unanimous. In my city support for bike lanes is almost unanimous (though they still won’t fund their construction…)

I guess if democracy fails then all that’s left is direct action. Anyone live in that area know anything about organizations that could spearhead something like this? I would think the Bay Area would have something like this going on but maybe not.

I don’t think NOLA is pro-Trump but Super Bowl goers might be. We’ll see.

There are plenty of examples where protest movements have forced the resignation of authoritarian leaders without major acts of violence. So this is not accurate.

Also, the most effective movements violent or nonviolent are large and diverse. So the main actions need to be building the movement first rather than direct confrontation—unless that confrontation is strategically designed to further grow the movement.

Well… for those called to take more radical actions I am not going to comment on that but I do think that there is a bare minimum of resistance that every single person should be engaged it, that’s my overall point.

There are tens of millions of Trump supporters. Focusing efforts on punishing them is completely pointless.

Your time is much better spent identifying, locating, and organizing action against leaders in the movement, not rank and file.

This is the kind of resistance we need every American to engage in. You don’t need to set fire to anything or shoot anyone but know your enemies and make their lives as difficult as possible in any way you can.
