The European Union seems powerless to counter the assault
Oh please. These pissbaby techbros wouldn’t be crying so much if they weren’t hit where it hurts. It usually takes a while for the wheels of EU bureaucracy to turn, but the following blow is all the harder for it.
As someone who is very happy to live in the EU and proud of what it has achieved so far, I can say: Fuck you Trump and your appendant ulcers!
To be honest, I hope they never do it. Because at this point it is absolutely impossible that it can live up to the hype. It will be a disappointment no matter what.
They can do other games in that universe though. They will work. I actually believe they will work better without HL3 existing.
That’s me with SNES emulators…

I thought the idea of cassette futurism is to show fictitious retrofuturistic tech. Specifically how 70s and 80s tech would look like in the (far-) future. and not how the actual tech looked in that time period, no matter how futuristic it looked back then.
What i expected to see was Alien and Blade Runner aesthetics and not GameBoy and Commodore. As it is now, it is simply “pictures of old tech”.
My knowledge of Star Wars lore is extremely spotty, but I would guess through Palpatine, no? He seems like an “cheat death” expert.
Keep going. They got last year already severals fines for GDPR violations. suming up to 2.26 Billion. Needs moar!
German is wrong. Its Quak.
A secret service that protects its own people instead of taking every opportunity to spy on them. remarkable.
How does someone deserve to be paid for work done? Is that your question?
Is this some kind of pathetic troll attempt?
I will not reward that with further attention.
You are aware that there are full-time developers working at Mozilla, yes? Developing a browser is not a hobby-project that you can pull off with some volunteers in their free time. You need professionals that work on such a giant project with their full attention.
Developing Firefox is their job. And of course they want to get paid for that (and deserve it). Just like you get paid for your actual job.
Do you think developers don’t have to eat? or pay rent? And donations alone do not cut it.
they added some nice tools though. e.g. their pacdiff & meld tool eos-pacdiff is pretty nice. then there is a kernel manager and a pretty clever update-script / wrapper around pacman and yay (eos-update). saying it is just Arch + GUI is selling it a bit short imho.
Right? In germany there is a lot named after her. e.g. The Institute for Nuclear Research in Berlin is the “Hahn-Meitner-Institut” (after her and Otto Hahn). There are severals Schools and streets named after her all over the country.
Cheats running at ring0 aren’t invisible
Every rootkit ever disagrees with that statement.
They can actually invest in server-side detection
I’m not deep enough in the topic to be able to judge this, but i would guess the needed extra hardware is simple not worth it. especially in games with many players or complex physics i would guess that could lead to considerable load on the servers.
Plus, server side is not able to catch things the client manipulates on his side. e.g. graphical data to make walls transparent. The server could at most catch the player abusing this knowledge, but if he is smart about it, the server has no way to ever notice.
What a colossal waste…
