China’s GDP was lower than Canada’s. Economic strength is not the only factor of a superpower, but it’s significant. It’s hard to project power effectively without sufficient wealth to fund those efforts.

Rarely. I don’t think I ever have two years in a row.
Usually only if I’m very sure it’s a game I will get a lot of playtime out of due to past titles. For instance, I did pre-order Civ 7 because prior Civs have been the best hours-enjoyed-per-dollar investments I’ve ever made. No exaggeration, even accounting for DLCs I bought at full price.
Run This Town - Fixed an issue where, under certain circumstances, it wasn’t possible to deactivate the Aguilar imprint after meeting with Bennett.
I just ran into this and had to use the workaround a couple days ago. They have great timing.
It helps that there’s a pretty robust modding community. It gives the game good replayability, in addition to all the improvements and changes CDPR have made. Sure, a huge percentage of the mods are sexy outfits, but that’s pretty normal for a heavily modded game.
Speeders. The jaywalking fine in that jurisdiction was negligible because it hadn’t been updated in like 100 years, so the cops probably didn’t think it was worth their time for a $1 ticket.
None while I lived there, which was a few years. I had a close call once because people sped a lot, so the perceived distance wasn’t always reliable. Cops camped out not far from the area sometimes because it was instant tickets as a result.
A lot of America is made up of roads that most people would agree in isolation should only be crossed at designated/signaled areas. However, if your entire municipality is just made up of those roads and you don’t prioritize crossing areas, pedestrians will naturally cross illegally.
I lived in an apartment building that had a parking lot across the street. The nearest crosswalk was a few minutes walk in either direction. The owner tried to petition the city to add a crosswalk, but the laws prohibited too many crosswalks regardless of the practical needs. He even offered to pay for it himself. So, you had tons of people who lived there crossing illegally.
Can’t argue with that.
I’m sure without context ytmnd.com seems insane.
Mafia 3 was my favorite. It’s definitely a departure from the first two, but it was a good melange of mafia and blaxploitation genre tropes. It also continued the tradition with a killer soundtrack. I never got tired of the radio.
I am getting back into MTG currently after a nearly twenty year lapse. I do like much of how it’s evolved, but every fucking card is a novel now. The math isn’t ever that bad, but it feels like you need a notebook to understand all the cards on the battlefield during a game.
I do it every time because she has some of the best dialogue in the game. She is legitimately funny. Also, soul brand is an incredible bonus action.
Knock her out in the goblin camp. She will be alive in Moonrise in act 2. Ensure she is spared by Ketheric and the orc lady. In the dungeons, take over torturing her from the evil gnome ladies and turn on them with Minthara. Then, lead her out to safety and recruit her. Best decision you can make. Save before the dungeon part because it bugs out half the time.
Developing standards, best practices, conventions, etc. One of the most valuable people on my team wrote some incredible quality automations a few years ago, and the only coding he does at this point is updates to them when necessary. By volume, he’s easily bottom 5% this year, but we’d be much worse off without his expertise/advise and the fact he advocates for the team.
This is classic shit management metrics. It would take some time for the rot to set in after using a cudgel approach to a team, and by the time it did, the assholes responsible would have fucked off elsewhere with their huge bonuses.
Always worth posting this classic.
I’m sure with control over all government branches again they’ll have the ACA completely replaced in no time. For real this time.
I don’t think he even attempted to do math. Someone asked him about it and said what the current budget was, and he just rectally sourced 2 trillion. I assume he said that because it’s big enough to sound huge, but less than half of spending so people don’t panic that everything will be cut.
It’s meaningless bullshit until he actually says specifically what will be cut. Republicans have been claiming they can cut huge chunks of spending for years, but it never materializes. They only know how cut government income without paying for it.
How much parmesan did you grate over the brussel sprouts after they came out of the oven? Whatever amount it was, you didn’t do enough. Also if you forgot lemon zest, add some too.
The solutions here don’t seem to really be solutions in my opinion, especially the third one. It’s like if the problem a patent solves was “being able to individually package sandwiches on a conveyor belt” and the solution was “have a machine that recognizes where one sandwich ends and another begins so it can stop and start packaging appropriately.” Like, no kidding, but how?
Then it’s not a binary system. It’s a system with two extremely dominant members. Those are different things. You can be more binary in specific contexts e.g., gametes and egg vs sperm.
I’d be very cautious about the healthy description in reference to intersex people. I don’t believe you are trying to say anything nefarious, but there’s a reason it shows up in eugenics arguments.
I didn’t say sex was a spectrum, though perhaps someone else you were speaking with did. I wouldn’t use spectrum for sex, since there are multiple differentiating factors with differing measures.
Quite a lot. The US did the same thing in Iraq and Afghanistan too. Who cares about who the enemy is or how many people die if they military industrial complex is making bank?
A country doesn’t need to be a superpower to project some power, but very few rise to the level of global hegemony. I think China is probably in the superpower tier today. The belt and road initiative is classic economic hegemony shit.
