This is genuinely a beautifully written comment. I’d expect an author with mathematical or physical background to have written it, like Asimov or Pynchon. Bravo!
Born a bit ago, I have continued living until the present day

So, I hate to be the breaker of bad news, but the UK has left the EU 🤷 Don’t shoot the messenger
I’ve been working my way chronologically through They shot pictures don’t they for ten or more years, and was stuck in 1975 for nine or so months. Finally got through with a big push:
Not quite as reformed as those two fine languages
Slowly learning Icelandic, with vague intentions of moving there. Icelandic is fairly phonetically written: most letters produce the same sound no matter their location. By comparison, spoken English has changed drastically from it’s written equivalent: there have been spelling reforms in Icelandic, and basically none in English
In case you don’t already know, Deutsche Welle have superb documentaries in voluminous quantities
My current Minecraft project is recreating all of the lighthouses of Iceland in their correct places. I’m using Wikipedia’s pictured list for my basis. So far I’ve imported a topographical map and am using world painter to create Icelandic Minecraft biomes. Fun times
My pleasure! I saw it on a Deutsche Welle documentary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DaiS_lp_4JM
The st Kitts train!
Exactly so!
I’ve been meaning to get his latest work which he predictably didn’t finish. Have you read it?
Do it! It’s a fantastic science, with ever expanding horizons! That being said, if working in the field is a bit too much, amateur astronomy is a fabulous and friendly hobby - if a bit expensive
I’ll be the dissenting voice and recount my little anecdote. I watched this maaaaany years ago, before I was as cognisant of cinema as I now am, and found it exceedingly meh - tho the final scene is rather memorable. Perhaps if I watched it now with older, wiser eyes it’d be better. Perhaps not. I have little desire to find out, given how many other films there’re to watch
All right, I’ll have a go. My favourite film (tho not the one I’ve seen the most number of times (that’s lotr)) is supposedly le fantôme de la liberté, 1974, Luis Buñuel. As for my favourite genre, I doubt I have one - there’re too many excellent films in too many genres!

They’re back? Thought they closed years ago
The comment does randomly mention cows - I’ll allow it!
