Ya know what’s crazy? I got a Steam link when it became available and it barely worked because my computer and router sucked more than I realized at the time. Then last year someone made a video about it and said how awesome it was and I remembered I had it and plugged it in.
They were right! It still works great, and since I’ve upgraded everything since then, I now know my computer was the bottleneck back then. I’m curious what new features a new Steam link could add to make it worth a whole new device at this point.
Oh then read the Wikipedia page you referenced. It actually gives examples supporting my statement.
And once again, I am not saying it isn’t racist today or that people weren’t racist back then or that the word is OK today or any of the other weird things people keep acting like I said.
I lost my patience with people being willfully ignorant a while ago. I just thought it was an interesting moment in time to see how language evolved. Not terribly dissimilar to many other terms people used to use that later morphed into slurs.
I’m not either. But there’s a difference between isn’t and wasn’t. But again, you don’t care. I’m still not defending racism or racists or racists using the term as a slur later. Ive been super clear. I was just providing historical context.
“at the world’s inception” should have clued you in on the jest…
I just disagree. We are equally dense at worst. I’ve already expressed people were racist and had slurs that they used. Im not ignoring that or unaware of it or trying to gloss over that. This just wasn’t one of them for a long stretch of time.
You won’t believe it because you just don’t believe it. That’s you being dense. You refuse to accept the reality I’ve witnessed. Terms weren’t used with equal intent globally throughout history. How a term was used in Caldwell Idaho in 1930 is not how it was used in Pennsylvania at the same time, despite them both being America and the people involved all being American.
Naw, it was most commonly used as a term similar to “that chinese guy” which is easy to confuse with racism at a time period where people were generally racist towards the chinese, but the term itself is not racist. There were actual slurs back then they could use if they were about that.
My Grandmother said they always bought they’re vegetables growing up from the chinaman who rolled his cart through the alleyway behind their homes. It’s not a term of hate, but it’s easy to say hateful things alongside it.
Literally never heard of them. With all the random bullshit companies dumping crap into the market, if you don’t have good name recognition these days, it’s just assumed you are some random Chinese product clone with dubious quality.
This is fine when I purchased my knockoff Dyson vacuum that still works great, but I wouldn’t trust all my data to a company I dont recognize.
I watched Last Action Hero a few years ago for the first time, and it honestly didn’t even feel that dated. It held up!
Would filbert also be an acceptable answer?
I wouldn’t have realy thought so, but since you are getting the downvotes, I guess you are right! I’ll upvote you since you’ve apparently found a taboo subject.
Snoop has felt so over exposed the past few years that most of his projects just look like ridiculous cash grabs. This is no different, but I really want to subject the Red Letter Media guys to this and watch their review more than I want to see whatever movie is actually made.
He’s a self professed degenerate, and wealthy to boot. He doesn’t give a shit what any of us think.
It’s nice his dad called and gave him shit though, since his audience is more toxic than he is and he shouldn’t be feeding them like that.
I’ve seen enough of his content to know he’s usually pretty quick to shut down talk just like what he got in trouble for so I don’t know what got into him that day.
Literally no one but advertisers like ads. Anything that leads to more ads being shown is a negative to your community. Some might understand the need to make money, but that doesn’t make anyone like ads.
That and they just stay there active, decades after the conflict. There are still minefields from decades old conflicts that kill/injure people today.
It’s honestly no worse than dropping bombs on them. They don’t have to deal with the explosive shock blowing out their ear drums either. It’s way more escapable than sudden explosions happening all around you.
Besides… if you invade a country you’re down with death. A bunch of the soldiers use rape and attack civilians as well, so my concern for their well being dried up a long time ago.
That’s actually not the problem with chemical weapons. Chemical weapons are banned due to their indiscriminate nature (being blown by the wind) and really the fact that it causes slow deaths over years. It’s that it’s tantamount to torture (which is also banned).
Blowing people’s limbs off is considered A-OK as long as it’s not done with land mines.
Yeah, i like it when they mix it up. Diverse backgrounds make for interesting stories and engage new people with the genre. Its really lame and insulting when it feels like theyre just trotting a character out to meet a quota and don’t give them any development beyond they’re cultural origin though.
If women want to see more female characters, they should definitely write them and probably not do it with the intention of creating a character “for women” to resonate with, but the larger fandom as a whole. Whenever people declare a target audience, they inevitably alienate others.
