Honestly I’m not sure. I had the ML on my AMD gaming PC but the other (metadata and thumbnail) services were still on the unraid server… Photoprism doesn’t have that issue at all…

Managed to set up immich remote machine learning (old 7th gen Optiplex to gaming PC). If only I bought an nvidia card… I wasn’t able to get it my AMD 7800 XT to work with immich ML… Next up is setting up microservices because immich is crippling my unraid server 🤦🏼😭

I agree with WG however I need https for a few locally hosted items like actual budget so I have that through nginx proxy manager. I was debating adding Authelia in front with some of my others (audiobook shelf, home assistant and music assistant) as sometimes I disconnect from my home network and forget to reconnect.
I think there’s a healthy discussion about technology. The fact that people are open to discuss their concerns about AI and the ramifications of the technology is exactly what is needed in a discussion. Technology for the sake of technology is not needed, that’s the play book these giants don’t seem to realize. They are rewarded for technology and their ability to destroy and wreck the power grid without having to pay restitution or taxes. It’s capitalism when in fact taxpayers are constantly the ones footing the bill with grants, tax levies, or holding the bag with bad contracts and needing to fix the problems these corporations leave in their wake.

In Ontario! The new optional Ultra-Low Overnight price plan provides:
Ultra-low overnight rate of 2.4 cents per kWh: everyday 11 p.m.-7 a.m.
Mid-peak rates of 10.2 cents per kWh: weekdays 7 a.m.-4 p.m. and 9 p.m.-11 p.m.
On-peak rates of 24.0 cents per kWh: weekdays 4 p.m.-9 p.m.
Weekend off-peak rates of 7.4 cents per kWh: weekends and statutory holidays 7 a.m.-11 p.m.
I definitely take advantage. I have solar panels that generate a moderate amount of energy, heat pump, and electric (heat pump) furnace and hot water tank plus two electric cars. Home Assistant has been such a dream to maximize the low energy and self-generated energy.
I have debated adding some batteries, but the amount of energy we use, especially at -30 c, it’s cost prohibitive.
I need to look into this again. I had it installed at the beginning of the winter and found it wonky. Heating during peak hours and not doing a thing when we pay .02$/kWh
