I can hear the sax now
tldw Everyone assumes the US made a secret illegal armed space ship (they did) so almost every other country did too. The US was offended that anyone but them broke the rules but they all had to fight the moon nazis together so no big deal
The reason why police have a ton of “militarized” equipment us because the military puts a lot of gear up for sale as surplus. Our county sheriffs picked up an old hummvee and MRAP for practically nothing.
Cybertrucks aren’t mil surp. Maybe years from now but not anytime soon
I didn’t mind the save system so much. Take an hour nap here and there and take a save drink when you are doing something stupid. I spammed the save and quit feature a lot tbh
The combat was solid for 1v1 but the game put you in so many 1 vs many situations and switching targets on the fly was not smooth or quick enough.
Bow and arrow didn’t have that and it was so satisfying
Being absolute trash with a sword, then suddenly getting to a level that I can win a fight without a ton of luck
I’m a single player/casual coop guy for sure. I enjoy some multiplayer but not if it’s crazy competitive. I’m not going to enjoy getting stomped by kids screaming into voip.
So yeah I know what I’m most likely to enjoy but I’ll always keep an eye out for new stuff. And indie games seem to leverage older design principles. And it looks like true remakes are becoming more common
I love the Army Men games as a flawed but nostalgic childhood series and I’ve loved the idea of it ever since
Army Men Sarge’s Heroes has two Christmas levels, but the last one is the final boss where you fight a dreaded poodle. It’s flawed but I usually dust it off and give it a play. The Mean Greens also has a neat toy train level.
I was super stoked when Rising Storm 2 had their christmas event come out in 2018. It was a great mix of serious and fun gameplay with the army men concept done with a level of polish I’ve never seen. Before the game died out I had a ton of fun for several christmasses!
I have fond ptsd memories of being a radioman following the green faction commander around as he calls in artillery strikes. We got pinned down behind some legos. The game mode keeps all the base game sound effects so when the commander peeked out and took a hit I got to listen to the long agonising death sounds while fighting for a kid’s craft table lol
Completely unrelated but Hitman is also a go to. The Paris christmas level is amazingly well decorated
The Long Dark is not for everyone but for me it’s awesome
a space ship
EDF! EDF!
(camera focuses on the news playing on a TV in a home in the countryside, slowly pulling back away from the monitor)
“…thanks to their efforts, experts have now stated with certainty that this threat has been eradicated…”
(the camera has pulled back enough that the screen is framed by an outside window with a tree trunk coming into frame from the right)
“…and many communities in the northwest united states can breathe easier knowing that these dreaded hornets are no longer found on our shores. Reporting from Seattle…”
(focus shifts to the tree bark. Buzzing is heard, getting louder and louder until a single murder hornet queen lands on the tree. Cut to black. Roll credits)
(cough desert storm)
I’m glad their app is getting traction. I wish all map apps that use OpenStreetMap data loaded this fast (cough cough OSMand)
br-
rrrrr
In WW1 armies learned helmets were a good idea when artillery kicked up big chunks of debris killing unlucky soldiers when it rained down on them. Ballistic protection was an afterthought that came along later.
So yeah better than nothing I guess, same with tornado drills our schools have sometimes
Of all the ones they showed somehow the MLB game bit hit me hardest
MLB 99 and Knockout Kings were two of the coolest sports games my dad played when I was a kid
No prob, added!
