  • The thing is, most billionaires are sociopaths. You don’t get there without being able to treat people like cattle, and consider yourself far, far, far above everyone else.

They’re all late game capitalist oligarchs, which almost always trends towards fascism in the end. It’s no surprise, it’s been happening for a while now, we’re just the biggest country to fall under this spell.

They don’t have any morals or ethics, they only have one purpose: Make more money at any expense to build their dragon hoard further.

They’ll praise trump and suck his dick if it doubles their earnings. That’s all they ever cared about. And trump will absolutely do them favors if they kiss his ass. It’s one of the things he was impeached for already.

  • If you watch the youtube series doublefine has on the making of Psychonauts 2 (I’ve actually never played it, but I’m a hobby game developer and found the whole series a fascinating behind the scenes for how established studios do game development), they had a project lead early on to the Psychonauts dev cycle that pushed for things like “blood gates” where you had to kill enemies to progress, and more challenging combat and more traditional sort of “God of War” style gameplay mechanics.

The core devs, UX, animators, level designers, etc. all sort of rebelled against him and went to Tim (the President of DF and the writer of it) and complained until he sorted things out.

So not having these challenging combat pieces was 100% intentional by the dev team that built both Psychonauts 1 and 2.

  • What you’re describing is called a resource leak. Something, an extension, a background process, etc., is holding onto resources for too long without cleaning itself up automatically.

This is pretty common in writing code, and extremely difficult to prevent except in closed and well understood systems. A browser is anything but that, due to the nature of needing to work on any website doing whatever they want.
