No, he said Breath as a service, which is funny!
No, he said Breath as a service, which is funny!
Which we will rebrand “Bullshit as a service”!
No, people didn’t do such things before, I disagree. People got out, of course, but it had greatly increased market view for events, because random people around could get the information. Before that, it was just displays on the walls, local newspapers, etc, but the potential viewers are way less.
I’m not so sure. Facebook was a great tool to create local communities at first. Then it became greedy and changed the algorithm for ads and being attention driven. If you remove facebook (which I don’t use since months), it’s harder to find what’s new around you, and get out to cool events. Especially on the countryside.
And then I praise microg / LineageOS
That’s what I was wondering, thank you! I’m not confident that it will come to Europe and I unfortunately cannot afford to buy a car that won’t be commonly supported by garages!
Do you know where it’s at? It was supposed to come to US by 2022, and I’m wondering about Europe…
Unfortunately, yes, but that’s not hard. Some Samsung phones have installer for e/os/ (full degooglised).
Which one? You can check officially supported here: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/#samsung But it is possible that yours is unofficially supported. In this case you have to read xda forums.
For links, I use Pocket (you can use Wallabag, but I find the interface not efficient at all). For files, you can sync a folder with syncthing (but you only switch it on when you want a quick sync, otherwise keep it off for battery). If you just want to put some file on your phone, install FTP server (free) from F-droid and switch it on when you need it (there’s even an optional switch on quick actions). Use Filezilla or any file browser (if on Linux) to exchange your files. Remember to switch the server off once finished, because FTP is not a secure protocol.
Install LineageOS or e/os/ on your phone and bye bye Gemini 🙂
Nextcloud was too slow and bloated for me. I used Seafile for years and it was fine, but at some point I went to some more simple setup : sftpgo to share folders (sftp, dav) and syncthing for the folders I want to sync between devices. You can also set ignore lists in syncthing to ignore large dirs. Keep it simple stupid 😅
I agree. I don’t use it for these reasons. But technologically speaking, it’s an open source alternative.
There’s Peertube as an alternative. It lacks some content, but the platform is on par. It is developed by a French association called Framasoft. Thus said, you’re right, Youtube is still okay, even thus there are some fake videos and scam, but they are easy to avoid.
I have no idea, but I’m also interested. Thus said, remember that’s only inside EU. I remember that Meta said they won’t apply this outside EU.
I agree 🙂 There’s also a lot of lobbying inside EU, but there’s more citizens resistance (for now…). As we say about capitalism: privatize profits, share losses.
That’s sad :/
I don’t think so. The reverse is even happening as there are way more restrictions inside Europe for Europeans companies. The result is that they are less competitive, but more respectful for EU citizens (but unfortunately, outside companies don’t always have to respect this, for now).
Why don’t Americans put pressure on legislation like Europeans did with the GDPR?
