  • I bought a set of mugs like that recently. It’s a shame because they are pretty nice looking, and comfortable to hold when empty. But when full of hot liquid, the handle just is totally inadequate.

They are from IKEA, so at least they didn’t cost too much, but I am a little surprised because their stuff is generally pretty well thought out from an ergonomics and usability perspective–it’s only really the sturdiness/durability I ever worry about.

The best mugs I have are still a pair of the stereotypical featureless cylinder type I got from a giveaway 10 or 15 years ago–they are utterly boring, but the handle fits 3 fingers for a perfectly stable grip!

  • If all your current files are still in the “download” folder, you could probably setup the arrs and qbit as recommended in the guides

Yeah, that’s the rub… they are all currently in separate movies, shows, and music folders as Plex/Jellyfin want them to be.

But it’s sounding like the best bet is to leave the existing content alone for now and spin things up per the guides until I have a better handle on how it all works. Appreciate the input!

  • Not to knock on you, because everyone’s got different priorities, but I think calling it a “huge expense that’s no longer relevant” is a pretty loaded framing. A decent 75-ish inch TV can be had for about the same price as a middle-road flagship phone.

Sure, I can certainly watch a movie or play a game on my little 6" phone screen, but it’s an entirely different experience–in the same way that eating a protein bar and eating your favorite meal will both technically nourish you.

Granted, I’ve spent quite a bit in excess of the cost of a decent TV on the audio system to go with it, but pretty much anything other than watching rando youtube videos or playing idle phone games, I would rather do in front of a large screen with immersive sound–gaming, shows, movies etc., even if it’s just me alone.

You can tell OP does not believe any person outside of America is human.

You did a lot more than conclude they have either been tuned out or need to re-think some things, and you know it.

Get out of here with that "If you’re not vocally against every evil at all times… " bullshit. It’s got the same energy as injecting “but what about men?” into every conversation about women’s problems.

For me anyways, it’s less “what was I doing?” and more “how do I not be an incompetent combat derp?”

I recently fired up God of War after a few months on a different game and promptly got slaughtered for the next 90 minutes straight until I could re-learn all the combos, special abilities, and enemy attack patterns.

  • Exactly, it’s a unit of convenience, not a unit of abstract precision.

Even a unit of “gallons/sqft” could be handy in the right context. If you were trying to design a storage solution for discretely packaged product for example, it could be a figure of merit despite literally factoring out to a unit of length.

  • I mean, 20TB drives will work in an array just as well as 8TB 😉

Honestly with the price of refurb enterprise drives, it’s really hard not to justify not going that route and just keeping a spare drive formatted on warm standby at all times.

A bit of a digression though, since OP isn’t looking to cram a bunch of drives into an old mini case.
