All just ammo for the appeal.

The shooter calmly walked away, and Luigi was arrested calmly in a McDonald’s.

At no stage was there some crazy escape or shootout where something like this would be warranted in court, and things like this have been argued to have influenced potential jury members in past cases.

Like, it’s one straw on a giant pile of better examples so far, but it all adds up. They’re gonna OJ this shit and go so hard it ends in a mistrial or something crazy.

Especially since the trial is going to be a media circus and Trump won’t be able to keep his nose out of it, it’ll kill him that he won’t be the main attraction.

The thing is, support for Luigi crosses party lines. It might be what causes a maga fracture if everything falls right.

  • Rather than playing on a high-end PC, I spent most of my time with KCD2 using medium settings on a mainstream build, complete with a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU and RTX 4060 or RTX 4070 Super graphics card. Even with the older and/or mid-range components, frame-times remained solid when targeting 60fps.

I have no idea what they’re doing if a 4070 super only got 60fps on medium… I was getting 50-70s on 4k ultra with quality upscaling and no frame gen

    Or why it’s “older and/or mid-range”.

Like, you can’t buy a 5000 series if you wanted to, a 4070 super is better than what most gamers are using today

The author is aware that there’s a big bias where reviewers have the best rigs, but they’re drastically out of touch with what most people are really using

  • The cause of Sophie’s APD diagnosis is unknown, but her audiologist believes the overuse of noise-cancelling headphones, which Sophie wears for up to five hours a day, could have a part to play.

    So fucking stupid…

Kid grew up on a quiet farm in the countryside, then she moved to London and probably 100+ student plus lectures.

It’s not that noise cancelling headphones prevented her from developing normally, she developed in an environment like what we evolved to handle.

Then she got thrown into a cacophony of sound that is one of the planets largest/busiest cities…

And they act like she is the problem and not noise pollution?

    https://www.nature.com/articles/s41370-024-00642-5

Noise pollution is fucking a lot of us up, and people who grew up with it are used to it, but that doesn’t stop the negative consequences of it. Someone that never had to deal with it is obviously going to have what looks like a sudden onset of a condition, but the person is fine.

    The environment is the problem.

  • Nah, after probation it’s pretty much impossible.

There needs to be like a year of documentation that the employee is just not doing their job.

    Because of the union.

That’s why there’s this big push to resign, every tool they have to reduce the federal workforce begins with the word “voluntary”. Probate employees and contracts have reason to be nervous tho.

Even closing USAID, it stops the work they’re doing, but they’re all gonna get huge severance checks or settlements if it really closes. It’s not like the private sector where it’s individuals fighting a billion dollar corparion. It’s multiple unions that are individually some of the largest in the country whose only reason for existence is knowing an incredibly confusing system of decades of regulations…

Versus a couple teenager and college drop out techbros with zero idea what they’re doing.

  • Does it?

I always liked the idea that Starfleet is the “relief valve” for humanity. It takes the people desperate for adventure, who wouldn’t be complacent even in a post scarcity world, and fling them as far away from Earth as humanely possible so they don’t change the government.

Which, even if Earth is a Utopia, it shows that on a deep institutional level the one world government has no issues with manipulating their citizens and makes me question how much of Earth is really a post scarcity Utopia in the first place.

As many shows Trek has, they just don’t really touch on what life is like back on Earth except rich officers come from giant farms/plantations that still have a bunch of field hands… Which doesn’t really jive with the story we’re told.

Id love to see something about what Earth is really like for people.

Like, what the Expanse did where they go back to Earth and I think everyone had “enough” but that included a large group of homeless drug addicts that lived in squalor somehow.
