Yup, and I won’t buy a new gas car either.
I’ll tell you why I won’t buy one.
I’m not going to go into debt as much as a house would’ve cost me 20 years ago so I can drive a 10,000 pound explosive that I spend several hours a day charging, be asked to pull over to turn on Bluetooth, have a tracking device in my car, which the government can turn off if they like, have to fumble with a touch screen to turn up the air conditioner, have to pay rent for features built into the car and then have any features I purchased be non transferrable on the secondary market. These are all fuck you’s to me, so I say fuck you to them. Take your vendor lock in SAAS product and shove it up your ass. You want me to give a shit about emissions, fix all that, until then I’m driving a 20 year old beater.
It will hurt US manufacturers, because their budget gasoline cars won’t sell.

Quotes from in the article:
They don’t like our decisions, and they don’t like how they anticipate we may decide some cases that are coming up. That’s the beginning of the end of it
There are groups that are very well-funded by ideological groups that have spearheaded these attacks. That’s what it is.
Plus He’s talking about the steam deck here. That’s 1 configuration. And Rocket League is already on steam for those who bought it before epic did, runs fine in proton. The dude is full of shit and making up excuses, it’s obvious this is a business agreement and nothing to do with practicality and in lying about it he’s hurting his reputation.
Fuck yeah thanks man
Really, wow. I didn’t know that.
If it’s on steam it will run.
What happens November 2025?
Dude that entire Wikipedia article is a wild ride. It has got to be one of the most bizarre Wikipedia articles I have ever read. I remember reading it a while back and thinking, wow, some guy that knows about this stuff inside and out just wrote an article about how to develop a nuke. It’s a walkthrough on building out a nuclear program. The level of detail in it is astonishing. I’m very happy to live in a world where I can just access whatever information I want.
Yeah there’s a whole TV show about that from the 80s.
Most communists on Lemmy would be put against the wall by the CCP. Agitators are useful until the party has power. After that they’re troublemakers.
Oh I can’t ask how it’s identical?
“Drinking and driving doesn’t kill people, people kill people” oh wait, that’s senseless and they’re not identical… Maybe you responded with this instead of answering my question because you know that.
“Cars and alcohol don’t kill people people kill people” yeah that’s why it’s drinking and driving that’s illegal, not cars and/or alcohol. But you thought of that already and realized your mistake, which is why you’re dodging.
Try harder, it’ll do you some good.
They’re not saying people are killing people with videogames, and you know that, so you’re being disingenuous. You’re creating an equivalency I didn’t make and arguing with it, not me. When you do this you only look smart to stupid people.
I didn’t defend anything, I just pointed out the irony of “videogames don’t kill people, people kill people.”
That’s not the argument though. The argument is “videogames don’t cause this problem” which is true in both cases.
Don’t you love it? Now the anti gun crowd is going to have to use Tue same arguments they pretend not to understand when defending videogames.
Replace “videogames” with “guns” to understand the 2A argument.
Why do they keep insisting that we are the ones that are wrong? The economy isn’t their numbers. The economy is a real thing, proper operation of which ensures well fed people.
The purpose of an economy is to fond optimal distribution of resources for people. Ultimately it’s people that need all the things, right? Either things are materials to produce things for people, or products useful to help other products reach people.
If the people think that’s not working, it isn’t working. They’re not just parroting what they see on the news, they’re living day by day, minute by minute in this environment. They see what day to day life costs for them. They’re wrong but the eggheads tracking the over fitted model are right? When a measure becomes a goal it ceases to be a good measure, that’s where the disconnect is. If you want to fix the economy then quit pretending your metrics are more important than people’s standard of living.
