Unless someone can prove some malicious intent, I think it is just as valid of a birthday as any other day.

You need to do damage control. Being short in all caps to a friend trying to speak with you is rude. The only real move is to apologize.
I killed Instagram and Whatsapp recently when Mark started buddying up to Trump.
Deleted Twitter shortly after Elon took over, which bummed me out since it was a good place for software development information.
Quit reddit after the API ordeal when I didn’t want to use the official client.
I was a long time user of each platform, and I was bummed when I had to leave each.
Now I have bluesky, lemmy, mastodon, and some occasional discord servers I hangout on. I miss Instagram as a time waster, but I’ll survive without funny dog videos and fitness models.
I’ve worked on projects for the government as a contractor. There is SQL; SQL as far as the eye can see. I’m sure the NSA has some novel solutions to crunching shittons of big data, but day to day, at least in my experience, it is a lot of relational CRUD and reporting queries.
For the curious, it does clearly exist:

Too late, he left home.
I agree, people need to be able to focus on something else for a few hours on a Sunday.

It’s just a word at the end of the day. To me “main” is literally a shorter word that means the same thing in my brain. It could be “trunk” or “release” or whatever else you’d like. “master” makes some people uneasy, so it seems like a simple solution to pick a different word.
The development community talked, informally settled on main, and here we are. Anecdotally it took me more time to write this than to switch most of my projects over. I use GitHub actions and a simple find/replace for a word not otherwise commonly used was the ticket.
I really don’t care what other people use at the end of the day. Discussing version control and branching strategies drains my life away. If it is difficult to switch, don’t, but if you start a new repo it is worth thinking about for a moment.
Main is more concise and less problematic. A win all around.
The cumulative price increases are noticeable. Grocery receipts feel like they are $25-50 more expensive for the same stuff.
We buy a dozen eggs every other week, so that specifically isn’t impacting us much, but in the store I usually take note, and say damn under my breath when I see the $7+ ones.
And one where I have a goatee and I’m the evil version of myself, right??
virtue - behavior showing high moral standards.
Wouldn’t want to signal that.
You would probably be able to run it. It will run like crap, but it will likely start. Postgres can run on as little as 8mb of ram, but not well. I’d recommend a box with at least 2gb of ram if you want to spin up multiple containers.
sqlite would probably be a better choice on an aging pi, but I’m sure you have your reasons.
Sounds like a good time to start padding estimates.
Let’s all head to the conference room, so we can discuss the definition of a story point for an hour. I’d also like to talk about why we are behind schedule and our velocity is dipping. Let’s make it two hours.
Are the bright colors giving you impure thoughts?
They’re in the area!
Requesting a dump of my FB account data now. Planning to archive my data on my home server and delete my account when i get my zip.
Diablo 2 was my first and favorite, I played the shit out of that game with my friends. We’d join up and rush each other, share equipment, meticulously plan our builds, and kill the strongest stuff we could find.
The story was stale after the first playthrough, and yeah I killed Baal and Mephisto thousands of times, but it was so much fun. There wasn’t an auction house or an ability to buy the best equipment. Leveling up didn’t take forever, so I could build a level 80 character in a few weekends of grinding away.
I played Diablo 3 too, but it felt like they lost the storytelling magic and focused more on monetization. Rifts were cool, but I really just felt like it was more of the same with better graphics and different characters / skill trees. It wasn’t novel enough to grind away my weekends on.
I haven’t tried the latest, and despite having a phone, I refuse to play Immortal or whatever (if that is still around).
I am over Blizzard games at this point … in the 90s and early 2000s they could do no wrong. Since they hitched up with Activision they completely lost the plot.
I’d stop shopping there if I had a time machine that could take me back to 2003.
