Just finished Yakuza 0 and am psyched to start Yakuza Kiwami (which is a remake of the first Yakuza game). The action is soo good. Beating the shit out of enemies is already satisfying enough, but where it gets really good is when you build up something called a Heat meter as you’re fighting. Once it builds up, you get access to Heat Actions and they are nuts.

I mean just look at this madness (spoilers for move unlocks)!

I hate it. For starters, I want to echo a common sentiment in the comments: the way it was taught data seems just so wildly unethical to me. The authors and artists whose works were stolen deserve a paycheck and I mean big time.

Don’t get me wrong, it does cool stuff too. Being able to recognize birds and plants and being able to proofread your texts, stuff like that? That is pretty cool.

But what pisses me off is how much “white noise” it generated on the internet, if you know what I mean. It depends on the search engine, but I’ve caught myself typing -ai_generated or some-such in the search bar just to find something that an actual human made. The search results are just so polluted with this shit. And, of course they want to put AI in everything. Ovens, CPUs, pillows, you name it. I don’t want it. Make it go away.

Like, now? No way. I would choose to continue my unborn existence. However, if I could choose a time period, that would be a different story.

Purpose?

7th Generation of consoles (PS3, X360, Wii) was pretty meh. The Wii was cool for a time, but it soon became flooded with shovelware and finding a good game was a chore. The PS3 was lackluster at launch and only got its footing at the tail end of the generation. The X360 had very few exclusives because most of their stuff was available on Windows.

This was also a time when apparently every dev, publisher and their mom operated under the presumption that “brown filter = rEaLiSm”. That, and bloom. Lots and lots of bloom. Good riddance.
