I had to stop playing. It was a great game but good lord was it bleak.
That’s not what they meant though. In this case people are paying extra to GET the game 2 days early so they get a head start. I agree with your thoughts though.
I wish this would get pinned to the top of this thread. It really reframes every word he said in the original article. Thanks for digging and sharing.
Picked up Anno 1800 to play with a friend. It’s been really fun so far.
“The game did not have core features that have emerged as requirements to be competitive in today’s hyper aggressive market,” she wrote. “The game was just fundamentally out of touch with emerging player tastes and not aligned with the portfolio strategies of any publishers or investors.”

I started playing Transport Inc. Now I can’t stop
You just described this entire site.
Except Pinterest is good if you know what you’re looking for. Quora has always been bad no matter what you do.
I’ve noticed the comments becoming more and more hostile and a lot more argument than discussion recently.
Nah, you need more numbers in your passwords. That’s why mine is always 123456789!
Ok so it’s a normal night with my wife then?
The fact that this game doesn’t exist is baffling to me. Who doesn’t like a good pirate tale?
You should try Timberborn. It’s not exactly what you’re saying but one of the big parts is managing renewable resources like trees. If you cut them all down and don’t have someone replanting, you’re screwed.
Oh we’re in agreement here. AI isn’t coming for us, the bosses are.
I agree with you but this argument is never gonna go away.
I can tell you now that AI won’t come for UX/UI teams, at least not in the near future. Clients rarely are able to really articulate what they need out of software and until AI is smart enough to suss that out, we’re good. That being said, I’m sure there will be companies that try to go that route but I doubt it will work, again, in the near term.
I keep thinking I can’t get more scared and yet here we are…
