This doesn’t mention react content though, it seems like a general statement. Have they said if this actually affects react channels?
They did rebalance solo play to make it easier but it will always be more difficult because bosses were made with co-op in mind.
I can -sort of- understand cancelling games that have been in development hell but it’s insane than they cancelled the Perfect Dark remake. It looked very far along when they showed it last year.
This whole article is dumb because this is the same as it ever was with Switch 1. Resold switches could be banned from online play, how is this unique to the Switch 2? If you’re going to buy used, go for a reputable source.
The vintage story dev said he’s gotten 20+ job applications but since they’re a small indie studio he realistically won’t hire more than a few.
“And here’s the thing — maybe it will work,” she added. “Xbox has a deep portfolio. [Oblivion Remastered] was obviously a huge success, and they can continue to outsource that work to external companies and make a lot of money releasing their older games — older games from an era when Xbox knew how to build them.”
Shots fired. Despite Microsoft constantly claiming Xbox is here to stay and they’re working on the next console, it’s very clear they’re trying to transition off hardware back into Windows so they don’t lose that too since Linux is dominating the handheld market. Even if they do make a new console, theyll put as much effort into it as the Xbox One.
Great post, but I have to stop you with this one:
Basically, every metroidvania-style Castlevania game had Iga’s involvement. All of them are good, all of them have the same level of quality, and I can barely remember the difference between any of them.
Aria and Dawn of sorrow are leagues above the other ones. If you’re only going to play one of these in the handheld era, it ought to be those two.
Switch 2 barely has any new games save for the newest Mario Kart and the upcoming Donkey Kong game.
If money is an issue I would just recommend buying a used/refurbished Switch 1. They’re going for fairly cheap and most of the library is virtually the same. Most of the first-party games and indies run well on it.
that said I’ve been trying to load my steam wishlist for like an hour now.
Me too. It’s the usual steam servers having issues as soon as a sale starts.
The two people wanting to play this game locally will be very disappointed.
It depends, a lot of modern AAA games run fine but a good amount of them are very unoptimized and run poorly on the Deck.
Valve said not to expect a hardware refresh soon since newer chips are more expensive and not that much faster, just look at the handheld PCs selling for ~$900 that are only 25% faster.
There are plenty of benchmarks online so you can check if the games you want will work properly or not.
I don’t think even Kojima knows what’s happening anymore
It’s funny in hindsight because before this game released there were so many armchair analysts saying it would be dead on arrival. Good for them.
The announcement trailer has over 61 million views so that’s impressive
OW2 got way better in the past year that I’d say it’s a good f2p game, it deserved all the bashing on launch but once they went back on locking heroes and actually started adding new content it’s worth a play. Lemmy hates live service though so nobody is going to let you say it out loud without getting mass downvoted.
Yes, reverse engineering is totally legal. The big asterisk here is that you can’t distribute any assets the company owns, so you need the original game files regardless to play the decompiled version.
Decompilation is definitely the path forward. Not only does it preserve games and allow you to play enhanced native versions, they’re totally legal and won’t get you into hot water. I played Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time at 60fps and it was glorious.
I’d argue their timing was very fortunate since GTA 6 got pushed to next year. That game would’ve dominated the popularity votes on all the GOTY shows.
Deja Vu. A lot of indie developers also had to wait months to get their Switch 1 devkits when that came out.
That’s fantastic, can you fix the Monster Hunter PC port now?
