  • You make a good point… In general, no one cares enough to track all this down. That is true. So that makes me wonder… who does/would care? So in a capitalist system, until the day the flow of money is impacted, generally nothing changes.

So if Reddit really is all (or vastly) bots, then aren’t advertisers paying to advertise to bots? And if that is true, at a certain point some metrics will show the yield on their investments is bunk.

Maybe that is how it collapses. I can hope.

  • I suppose the spirit of the question was “volume of content” vs “volume of accounts”. But there is a problem with loading a lot of content onto a singular account (from a bot detection PoV), and that is that it is easy to detect if an account is a bot if their post history is :

    1. Metronomic (or)
    2. Relentless in volume

To solve that problem (aka bot camouflage), the maintainers of said bots would use volume of accounts as a disguise mechanism. For that reason I assume that the volume of bot accounts has to scale with the volume of “pushed content” as, in my assessment… if I were running a bot network I’d want to be sure that my most-active bots were only 50-80% as prolific as known-human accounts… then simply distribute your content across those “strategically-limited-spam-bots”.

So as a TLDR I guess what I’m saying is that the volume of accounts has to scale with the volume of influence assuming you’d want your influence to appear organic.

The meta above this would be what, account creation monitoring? It’s an interesting conflict. Influence peddlers vs bot detectors.

What is gross to me is that platforms like Reddit appear to be catering to the influence peddlers. (or in the case of Facebook and Cambridge Analytica… allying with and giving birth to said influence peddlers to the political gain of Zuckerberg’s personal views on politics.)

Should one person have such power? Probably not. Explains a lot of “unexplainable” occurrences happening… back to back to back to back to…

This is the modern incarnation of “billionaires buying newspapers” to maintain control of the narrative.

  • Just an opinion from someone who has been around the internet for a long while. It wouldn’t surprise me if most of the comments are bots. I remember what it was like to interact with humans, even dumb humans, and they aren’t nearly as blatantly agenda-driven as commenters on what I’d call “visible social media”.

There are plenty of people who have a vested interest in disrupting means of communication and organization and they are investing a great deal in “false idea proliferation”.

    My 0.02¢.

Oh, you asked for a percentage, in the popular subs? 80+%. In niche subs that don’t affect the Overton Window? 5-30%. And yes, these numbers are favricated outward from my butt hole.

The context of… reading the fabric of the universe?

You’re right, that is totally irrelevant to… a physicist.

I see you’re trolling, so I look forward to your condescending response, but to be successfully condescending you have to be at least somewhat convincing in displaying intelligence, if you can manage that then this whole argumentative act will go much better and people will get much angrier.

TLDR, Try the same troll tactic but with less incompetence for better results.

  • Another one bites the dust.

I admit it, I once assumed Elon was a genius.
    (events happen)
Okay, not a genius, but a good businessman.
    (events happen)
Okay, a bad businessman, a good PR person.
    (events happen)
Okay, a bad PR person, but not a Nazi.
    (events happen)
Well fuck, he’s a Nazi supporting conspiracy theorist.

God damn, if I was that wrong about one person. I’m just gonna stop having opinions about famous people. It’s all smoke and mirrors.

  • For similar series, I recommend Burnout and Flatout. See my comment in this thread for elaboration.

Career wise I think Burnout : Paradise City is the most fun of the games I mentioned because you have to go around the city finding hidden jumps, hunting cars roaming the city (when you catch them (by crashing them, of course) you get to drive them), and beating time trials that create unique opportunities to fly through the air and blast through traffic, ideally crashing your opponents into them… anyway, I love the genre, hope you find your game!

  • I adore the Wreckfest game. I played it, beat it, lost my save and was happy because I got to play it again. I think I’ve done that three times.

If you are like me and would like another game in this genre, try “Flatout Ultimate Carnage Collectors Edition”, personally I find the crashing (as well as the racing) in FUCCE to be more satisfying than Wreckfest but both games are a must have for fans of the genre.

The only thing that Wreckfest probably does better is that it feels good on a racing wheel, I’ve never played Flatout on a wheek so I can’t comment on that. Both are fine with a Steam, Xbox controller, or third party controller.

For the record many of the Flatout games are great, I just happen to think that FUCCE is the pinnacle. I would love to be wrong and find a better game so please feel free to share suggestions.

And for a more open world style game with collecting cars, crashing them, and causing carnage as the core theme (you still can’t get out of your car) try Burnout : Paradise City, amazing soundtrack too.

Some of these games have quite unique game modes, the “High Jump” and “Long Jump” in FUCCE is a dumb as hell game and great for having friends compete on the couch.

Burnout has a mode where you have to incrementally take out X opponents before time runs out, X increasing as difficulty rises. And every time you take someone out you get boost so on a perfect run you’re just exploding everyone at light speed lol. Then BAM WALL FUCK. Lol. That’s the game.

And for a final unique game mode, the old Burnout games (not BPD unfortunately) had a mode where you intentionally caused maximum damage per time limit. It was hilarious throwing the car into traffic then dancing it around the city causing hundreds of thousands of damage in a scene so stupid it would have been cut from Final Destination. I think Burnout 1, 2, and 3 had it…

  • (Any person hesitant to work with the police)

The internet “She was clearly insane.”

Every time someone says she’s acting weird I just can’t help but wonder if they live in a place with zero black people. Everything about her behavior made sense. It’s late at night, she’s disoriented, she was recovering from surgery and likely on medication, she lives in a world where people who look like her are executed daily.

A person 15 inches taller than her and 3x her weight is being a massive cunt, interrogating her about her home and car and showing no interest in making her feel safe… Hmmm, why did she hesitate? sHe MUsT bE cRazY.

Next time you are incapacitated, sick, injured, imagine the police coming by. “This man is clearly on drugs in their own house, better interrogate them.” Oh, a commercial is coming on, better mute it so I can hear the… “Gun gun gun!!”, …“What?” you think to yourself, “Who has a gun?” Suddenly you can’t hear and your chest is wet, an officer is standing over you, you’ve been shot, “I was just trying to…” You’re dead. Shouldn’t have been born black.

IF YOU CAN’T BE OUT OF IT IN YOUR OWN FUCKING HOUSE WHERE CAN YOU? OH NO THEY DIDN’T BEHAVE PERFECTLY IN LINE WITH SOCIAL BEHAVIOR IN THEIR OWN HOME LATE ATE NIGHT WHEN EVERYONE IS TIRED, GUESS THEY NEEDED TO DIE.

May Sean Grayson’s asshole rot from the inside out as he lies on a cold prison bed thinking of the children he’ll never raise and his former fiancee fucking someone else while he’s in the ground. Better yet, I hope he beats cancer and lives to old age in a cement box where he watches his children grow up through paneled glass.

May he replay her last, “I’m sorry” before he put a bullet through her face for the rest of his miserable existence and thinking of the life he could have had if he wasn’t a piece of human trash.

  • Change the rules? No.

The “rules” are in place, they’d simply be exercising existing structure.

You should listen to the podcast More Perfect if you want to learn more about the court.

When you’ve convinced an entire political party that any changes in anything ever is always bad… it’s kinda difficult to please those people.

Like, opposing ethics reform? So if a judge gets bribed… you want them to be able to say, “Nah nah can’t get me, I’m friends with a billionaire!”

Or, to ask in a different way, do you think that it was the intention of the founders that the highest judges in our form or government make their rulings based on who gives them the most money?

because ^that is our current system

  • Ah yeah, I did that for a while until my save files started going over 200MiB, and I timestamp my base 4-5x per session, so I’m usually generating about 1-2GiB worth of save data per session (depending on the base). Steam cloud was no longer an option, so I had to fallback to some sort of manual solution.

Maybe Steam cloud is improved now? In that case I could re-enable it and have a double backup :)
