  • The actual protections that have been actively worked to be dismantled constantly.

Yes they voted for him. The video game plot is irrelevant, they just talked about directing the people’s consciousness by censoring and selectively allowing information. The same thing most federated social networks are actively trying to escape, the algorithm.

In the game an AI chose what was right and wrong, creating context in a desirable light. Whether or not this article is right, it is a very real thing that is going on in the world. Not with AI, but any social media platform can skew their platform algorithms to alter what is in the populace’s consciousness.

The same way TV has been used for decades.

  • Honestly it’d help if they switched to a touch friendly desktop interface like gnome. Yep! Its definitely a nice way to have your game on the go.

Sadly I notice that’s the 2 types of use cases. Commuter vs traveler. I take public transport often and I’d care too much about the steam deck being taken. Back when it was just me traveling to a place I’d be at for a while, like my fiancee’s it was nice.

Size means I need to be near an outlet usually, since ideally the goal is play bit more demanding games. Again, I feel it’s still too early for it to be the multitool it can be.

  • You started your point by saying get this extra thing, to use extra things. It’s cumbersome.

It’s not a laptop, and the hardware sadly has been unreliable in my experience. It’s just a hobby piece of hardware, just less cool than the dedicated stuff like the Vita.

It’s cool that it has that flexibility, but it sadly isn’t a computer someone can regularly dedicate to unless they have all the extra time to sett it up on the go.

  • In Spanish the word is frijolero, the roughest translation is beaner. This is because frijol means beans and the ero at the end refers to someone with beans. In Spanish we use the word to mean the dude who sells beans. Like elotero, the corn seller or carnicero, the meat seller.

Yes it’s used as a slur in English, that doesn’t change the origins, if anything it further contextualizes how cruel it is. When beans are the consistent source of protein for many Mexicans. Without them, most of the country would be malnourished.

    Then again, I’m just a frijolero :)

  • This is always ridiculous to me, it’s a hair style. Not even a black thing.

Literally used by many backgrounds to make hair manageable while outdoors. Like how a bandana isn’t a gangster thing when it’s just good for sweat on your brow and keeping your hair back while you work.

It frustrates me to see it as a staple of butch fashion when it’s not even utilized, but hey whatcha gonna do.

Then again, lots of things have been co-opted. Like how no one talks about cowboy culture being a predominantly Mexican thing. Vaquero the Spanish word that literally translates to cow-er, like bean-er. Roughly meaning he who works with cows or he who works with beans.

Vaquero eventually became buckaroo, and America kept the cosplay for their manifesting.

It’s life, you live and you learn. And you’d be an idiot not to learn from those around you. Just seems a weird hill to die on

  • Linux has a lot of issues with information being hard to find. Not purposely or done with malice. Just an issue inherent when dealing with hundreds of distros, versions, and hardware variables alone are a bitch.

I love Linux btw, it just sadly isn’t there for my use case. It’s not the community, it’s just a slow and arduous transition. Just a good emp away from a reform lmao

    .

That’s the beauty of the internet friend. They have information, p2p, and hope. :)

However when you ask for help unscrewing a rounded Phillips, someone will tell you about the optimal screw to prevent it. It’s helpful, but most people are just trying to fix their shit and don’t design it.

Both CAN be true about the car example, that’s the beauty about information! We are well informed.

Please recommend me distros is what that means, I’d love to learn about them. Sadly everything I’ve tried is unstable or constantly deters me from doing anything right when I want it.

Microsoft is dog shit but it just works, that’s the benefit. The same benefit android has nowadays, which Google used to help make ChromeOS a smooth transition. I miss old android phones, trackball on android 4 was still a blast even with the 5 minute boot and overheating.

  • The people who only use a browser are supposed to understand the obfuscation issues Linux has, something that even the fedora installer is renowned for struggling with?

I never said it wasn’t for them, the person pushing others to go to Linux because of an issue with windows was doing that.

I merely said that’s ignoring the direct issue and the underlying complications those pushing for Linux constantly ignore for new and beginner users. Folks should instead make with what they have, what they can.

It’s the equivalent to asking for help with a car issue and being told to buy a new car. Ignoring the learning curve, time, and setup. A bootable drive is a complicated thing to understand for the largest demographic.

Also notice how you said Chromebook or Android, however not any proper Linux distro because it sadly isn’t there for the hobby enthusiasts. Only a large organization was able to standardize and solve the main issues with Linux by completely neutering. The same way windows did before it, but at that point you’re arguing the lesser evil when the point of Linux is to be free of those evils.
