To be honest, I recently got a TCL Roku TV and I almost gave up on trying to use it as a dumb TV. I’m not a beginner at this, but setting up a network connection was so embedded in the initial setup, from the moment you turn the TV on. I did a couple factory resets and I could not figure out how to bypass it. Turns out I had to set it to “store display mode” at a certain point and then connect my other streaming device.
That’s cool. It didn’t occur to me that anyone was preparing to fight back physically.

I stopped taking him seriously when his Netflix specials included: blaming the victims of Louis CK’s sexual harassment (“Why didn’t they just hang up the phone?”) and some other 13-year-old take dismissing trans people. He stopped punching up and started punching down.
I guess he briefly had a W when he said Israel was committing genocide, then walked it back and said the real problem was antisemitism. What a coward.
EDIT: The trans joke I’m referring to was “If I was in ISIS in the trenches fighting against the United States and all of the sudden I see a man with a beard and big D-cups titties just rushing my foxhole and sh*t, I’d be horrified.”
I like Leo and he acts with a lot of intensity, but I don’t think he’s a great actor. I never forget that I’m watching someone playing a character.
I’ve shared this before, but on a podcast Greig Fraser (cinematographer for Dune, The Batman) basically said, “AI is happening, and we as artists can either embrace it and decide how to use it tastefully, or investors/producers will decide for us.”
I thought it was fine. Could have been called “Manhattan Project” instead. And as an anti-war American I thought they made a compelling case at the end that the US was “forced” to obliterate all those Japanese civilians, but from a human perspective I still think it was abominable.
It’s really funny that people did the “Barbenheimer.” The hot pink, light-hearted feminist eye candy into a 3-hour sepiatone drama starring 45 white men. I would have whiplash.

They have a handful of dumb screens, like you’re describing, at Best Buy. Somehow they’re thousands of dollars for a normal sized TV.
I would say that I personally want to see more original movies, but I wouldn’t think to argue that the general public feels the same. I’m not surprised about this outcome at all.
We have TONS of examples of “inexperienced, low-budget” male DPs shooting blockbusters. Sometimes they look great, sometimes they look terrible. Women deserve those opportunities too. That’s how they become experienced.
Galaxy Buds are just so solid. The little spendy goblin in me has looked at new ear buds for years, and I even got some free Pixel Buds with my last phone, but I keep going back to the galaxies.

So I got a flash drive to install Windows and (attempt) to install COD, but I have a Mac computer. To move anything to the flash drive, I had to format for MacOS, but to move anything to the deck I had to format for Linux. Am I misunderstanding something?
Samsara was the first movie to be scanned in 8K. It’s stunning in 4K, so I think I would also enjoy it in 8K.
I personally avoid calling anything “overrated” because it carries judgment against anyone who likes the thing. I will say I haven’t especially enjoyed a Tarantino since I was a teenager and I don’t know what makes him so special.
