i’ve got an ad-blocking DNS on home network and my phone, i use youtube revanced, i’ve even got a fucken apk patcher to strip ad shit out of mobile games. it’s WILD to me how tolerant people are of ads. like anytime someone’s showing me a video on their phone and an ad plays, i have to do a little mental math on whether it’ll be annoying or mutually beneficial to just start playing the video on my phone instead.

and it takes such little effort to get rid of them! i’m constantly offering to teach people how to use patchers or revanced, folks are just like “nah it doesn’t bother me” MAN, HOW? sponsorblock alone is a goddamn godsend, sometimes more than 30% of a video is just ads and self promotion! how does anyone happily throw away their time like that‽

i first watched it with someone who actually really loved the intro music. my fondest enterprise memories are fucken BELTING faith of the heart in all sorts of silly voices.

a ball was absolutely dropped on the writing of the lyrics tho, and it lead to it sounding like a goddamn after-school-special intro. specifically the choice to do that like, rising major chord bullshit on “i can doo~ aaaanything~~” just completely turns it into kiddie musical bullshit from a tonal perspective for me.

vocals do go hard tho, that singer was giving it 100% FOR SURE. i’m not gonna lie and say i don’t still sing it for funsies.

i swear pokémon duel would do the opposite of this. you’d get on a win streak and then suddenly a player with a very generic name and the EXACT counters to your deck fucken SWEEPS your ass with seemingly psychic precision. you could even trick it by switching to a deck with no synergy and just playing like a psycho whenever you got ~5 wins in a row.

enterprise sounds so good on paper, but it’s always my least favorite trek to watch and i don’t know why.

like half my concussions have been the stupidest shit ever. once when i was a kid i randomly decided to jump down the last 5 or so stairs. but there was a door there so i fucken CONKED my head on the frame, spun backwards, and then SLAMMED my shit for a second time on the bottom step.

that was probably the worst one, i think it legitimately fucked up the way i form memories. i have a lot of face blindness issues now, but i always INSTANTLY recognize people from my childhood.

i think psp did it first for handhelds, i know the suspend feature was a talking point when it launched. consoles didn’t get it until xbone iirc. it’s kinda wild how long it’s taken to be a regular feature!
